Today we’d like to introduce you to Darius Martin.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Dedication, faith, and the enjoyment of helping others it was drives me daily. Since a child, I’ve always been in a position to help others whether by choice or not. And what most would look at as a burden I believed was my calling. I’ve always saw things a little different and realized my path was to lead the people into a place of hopefulness,, truth, and freedom. With so many rules, limitations, and guidelines in today’s world the human can only go so far before falling into a mold. iAmBeU looks to change that narrative.
I’ve worked my whole life, helping others was practically my second job & what started as a euphoric feeling that came from helping people, turned into a dream and a mission. My mission revealed its true purpose once he decided to leave college and create a networking platform that would empower business and inspire people to create a better tomorrow. I dropped out of college & started my creative agency iAmBeU in 2018 and hit the ground running. Events, marketing for different people, strategist, idealist, when people wanted something done I was called.
In 2019, I drove almost 16 hours to get to Forbes 30 under 30 event which a mentor sponsored for me to attend in Detroit. I snuck onto a panel and placed 7th place in a startup competition where hardly any participants got venture capital meetings, but he did. I took what I learned, created a plan and used the company’s fundamental concepts of iAmBeU to further develop it into a smartphone app for users.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to success is never easy, anything worth value is worth fighting for. I’m trying to change the narrative & awaken many from the propaganda forced upon us. And when chasing success, it comes with late nights, loss after loss, isolation, and many more unbearable sacrifices that will pay off. Starting the company was the easy part, you’ve got your LLC, Instagram page up, website, you feel accomplished. The hard part comes with consistently chasing that goal you originally set out. When things go bad, pivoting and redirecting, taking outside help, changing the original plan & not wanting too. And at a point you are going to ask yourself “what the hell am I even doing” and you have to be real enough to answer those questions with yourself. I’ve wasted almost 50k getting an app developed just to have been over priced and receive a product I could’ve made myself. Realizing the depth of what you are trying to create and seeing it won’t be cheap, finding a investor, raising capital for a project, just wall after wall until things started to click. I found a developer, the mvp is almost done, pitch deck is great, analytics and research have been done, and we are ready to start campaigning the movement of iAmBeU, and raise awareness on what’s to come.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My app developer Jude, who took a risk on me, doing the app at a discounted rate to get the mvp to where it is today. Terrance Howard for his amazing words of wisdom, and encouragement. The little family I do have friends, partner in crime faith. The unwavering support and belief that I can do something so great and so big is truly appreciated.
