Demi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey into the beauty industry honestly started long before I realized it would become my career. I like to say I was a “shop baby.” My mom is a beautician, so I grew up in the salon watching women transform not just in appearance but in confidence. Being around that environment from such a young age planted the seed for my love of beauty and entrepreneurship.
As I got older, I began developing my own skills and passion for the industry. What started as a personal interest quickly grew into a business. I built Demeanor Beauty with the vision of creating a luxury beauty experience where clients could come not only to enhance their look but also feel elevated and confident.
That vision eventually grew even bigger and led to the creation of DB Studios, a luxury salon suite concept in Houston designed to give beauty professionals a beautiful, upscale space to build their own businesses. Building the studio from the ground up was a two-year process and one of the biggest investments I’ve made, both financially and personally, but it’s been incredibly rewarding to see it come to life.
Today, my goal is not only to provide luxury beauty services but also to create opportunities for other beauty professionals to grow their brands in a supportive, elevated environment. Watching that vision unfold has been one of the most fulfilling parts of the journey.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. In a world full of “no’s,” you really have to believe in your vision and keep pushing forward. One of my biggest challenges was finding the perfect brick-and-mortar space that truly aligned with the luxury experience I wanted to create.
Once I secured the location, there were still many hurdles. Building out the studio required working with architects, contractors, and employees, and finding the right team that understood the vision wasn’t always easy. I also faced challenges with city approvals, where every small detail had to be perfect before moving forward.
Although the process was tough at times, those challenges helped shape the business into what it is today and made the accomplishment even more rewarding.

I am the owner of Demeanor Beauty and DB Studios, where we focus on providing luxury beauty services while also creating a professional, upscale space for beauty entrepreneurs to grow their businesses. Demeanor Beauty specializes in services like lash extensions, makeup artistry, skincare, and other beauty enhancements designed to help clients feel confident and elevated.
What I’m most proud of is building a space that not only serves clients but also creates opportunity for other beauty professionals to thrive. What sets us apart is the level of intention behind the brand—from the luxury experience to the community we’re building. It’s more than just a beauty space; it’s a place where confidence, entrepreneurship, and creativity all come together.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
One quality that has been very important to my success is remaining teachable and coachable, even as you grow. No matter how far you go, there is always something new to learn. I believe staying open to guidance, feedback, and new perspectives allows you to keep evolving both personally and professionally. That mindset has helped me navigate challenges and continue growing my brand.
