Today we’d like to introduce you to Erika Bailey.
Hi Erika, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey has been filled with growth, challenges, and a lot of learning. I originally launched The Balanced Boss Mom Podcast to create a space for women navigating entrepreneurship, motherhood, and personal growth. As my vision evolved, I made the transition to rebrand the show as The Balance with Erika B., allowing me to reach a broader audience and have meaningful conversations about mental health, relationships, faith, business, and finding balance through every season of life.
Today, I have the privilege of interviewing inspiring guests from all walks of life, with the goal of reminding people that they aren’t alone in their journey and that growth often begins when we embrace change.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No journey is ever completely smooth. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced moments of uncertainty, self-doubt, and unexpected changes. One of my biggest challenges was transitioning and rebranding my podcast, which pushed me to rethink my vision and step outside my comfort zone. While it wasn’t easy, it reminded me that growth often comes from embracing change. Looking back, those challenges strengthened my purpose and helped me create a platform that reflects who I am today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the host and creator of *The Balance with Erika B.*, a podcast dedicated to honest conversations about entrepreneurship, mental health, relationships, personal growth, faith, and navigating life’s many transitions. I specialize in creating a space where guests can share their stories authentically and where listeners feel seen, heard, and encouraged.
What I’m most proud of is building a platform that connects people through real conversations and meaningful storytelling. I believe what sets me apart is my willingness to be vulnerable, embrace change, and create discussions that go beyond surface-level topics. My goal is always to remind people that they don’t have to have it all figured out to keep moving forward.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was naturally curious, expressive, and very people-oriented. I’ve always been the type to observe everything around me and feel things deeply, which later shaped how I connect with others today. I was also creative and ambitious, even if I didn’t fully understand what that would look like long-term at the time.
I was born and raised in Gary, Indiana, and later moved with my family to Texas, which became a major turning point in my life. I graduated from MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas, and then went on to college where I completed my degree.
Looking back, I would describe myself as resilient, empathetic, and determined. I’ve always had a strong sense of independence, but also a natural pull toward helping, listening, and creating safe spaces for people—which is something that still shows up strongly in my work today.
