Life & Work with Fabi & Dany Guevara of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabi & Dany Guevara.

Hi Fabi & Dany , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Konnichiwa! We are Kore Wa Oishidesu — or KWO Sushi for short — and our name literally means “This is delicious” in Japanese. That’s the promise we deliver in every roll, bowl, and bite.
We’re Fabi and Daniela Guevara, a wife-and-wife chef duo with over 20 years of combined culinary experience. Eight years ago we began our journey cooking together, exploring and mastering flavors from across the globe. The last few years we immersed ourselves in Japanese cuisine — its precision, its freshness, and its endless creative potential.
When the opportunity came to take over the very space we once managed, it felt like destiny. So in February 2025 we opened KWO Sushi right here in the heart of Houston’s POST Market food hall.
Today we blend time-honored Japanese techniques with our own vibrant, multicultural twists. Fresh sushi rolls, creative ceviche rolls, nigiri, colorful rice bowls, bento boxes, and more — all made with the highest-quality ingredients and served with a whole lot of love.
Because at KWO Sushi, it’s never just food.
It’s a delicious experience

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
when passionate about what you do, every difficulty becomes a learning experience, it has been an amazing path

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
You are about to enter my mind, please take off your shoes… at the core of everything we do at KWO Sushi, we’re artists first.
We create from the heart. Every roll, every bowl, every plate is our canvas. We combine flavors, colors, textures, and aromas the same way a composer layers notes, an architect designs harmony in space, a painter blends hues on a canvas, or a sculptor shapes emotion from raw stone. One wrong balance and the whole piece falls flat… but when everything clicks? Magic.
For us, food is the most beautiful art form because it’s alive. It engages every sense at once — sight, smell, taste, even touch. That moment when someone takes that first bite and their eyes light up… that’s when we know we’ve done it. We’ve created something that literally blows their mind.
Combining art and food still feels mind-blowing to us too, even after all these years. It’s the ultimate achievement: turning ingredients into an experience that stays with people long after the plate is empty.
That’s why every dish at KWO is made with love, precision, and a little bit of soul. Because when art meets food, “Kore wa oishidesu” becomes more than just words — it becomes a feeling.
We’d love for you to come experience it for yourself at KWO SUSHI

What matters most to you? Why?
happiness, Good food makes you happy,
