Hi Imani, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a licensed lash artist here in Houston! I was born and raised in Los Angeles and made the move here about two years ago. Ever since I can remember, I was always in the hair salon with my mom while she was working and that’s where my love for the beauty industry started. I knew I wanted to own a beauty business so I attended the illustrious Tuskegee University and graduated with a BS in Sales and Marketing. After graduation, I began offering makeup services and created a line of lipgloss called Manzi Cosmetics. It took some time but I realized that wasn’t what I wanted to do. I discovered a free lash extensions course and decided to take it! I immediately fell in love and started esthetician school so that I could begin offering my services. Unfortunately, this was during covid and I had to pause my esthetician education. I did my research and learned that Texas offered a lash extension specialist license and I was so happy! I made my move to Houston and began my lash specialist training and obtained my license! Ever since then my lash extension business, Manzi Beauty has been growing and the best thing about it is seeing my client’s confidence skyrocket after I do their lash extensions! Seeing their faces and hearing how much they love my work is what keeps me going! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me in Houston!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road! As an entrepreneur in the beauty industry, there are times when business is slow and times when business is booming! Some of my struggles in the beginning was gaining clientele and growing from 0 clients in a new city. With the help of social media and word of mouth, I was able to grow my clientele. It took a lot of time, creativity, consistency, constantly learning and improving my skills and most importantly, prayer to overcome those struggles! Now with a few years of experience, I am able to handle struggles and obstacles much better than before!

I am a licensed lash artist and I specialize in providing quality lash extension services. I am known for my natural-looking lash extension sets! My most popular service is the hybrid set which I call the Island Glam set. It gives a natural look with a pop!
I am most proud of my growth as a lash artist from the beginning to now. I have learned so much and to see my progress sometimes surprises me!
What sets me apart from others is the style of my work! Whenever I ask my clients why they chose me, they say my work is neat and that it looks natural, which is a little different from the super full looks that are popular in Houston. I customize each lash set to the shape of your eyes and I take pride in keeping the health of your natural lashes intact! I also provide aftercare kits so that you can have the tools to take care of your lash extensions and make them last! I make sure that your lashes enhance your beauty and don’t take away from it.
