Today we’d like to introduce you to Jean Stephenson
Hi Jean, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama in a Nigerian household living as a family of six. Being a triplet made my upbringing unique—there was always a built-in support system, but it also meant high expectations. My parents instilled strong values in us, and growing up in a Catholic household reinforced the importance of discipline, faith, and hard work. Sports also played a big role in my life, and I carried that drive into college, where I played volleyball while balancing my studies.
When it came to my career, I knew I wanted to make a difference, which led me to nursing. I worked hard, graduated in the top 10% of my class, and eventually moved to Texas with my triplet sisters to start our adult lives together. Alongside nursing, content creation became a passion that all three of us pursued. We each have our own unique style, but we share a love for documenting our journeys, whether it’s lifestyle, beauty, or our experiences as young professionals.
Moving to Texas was a big step, but it’s been an exciting chapter—navigating adulthood, building our careers, and growing our platforms. Through it all, I’ve learned that taking risks and embracing new opportunities is the key to growth.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—there have been plenty of challenges along the way. Growing up as a triplet in a Nigerian household meant that expectations were always high. Our parents emphasized education, discipline, and success, which pushed me to work hard but also came with pressure to excel in everything I did.
Balancing college volleyball and nursing school was another major challenge. Juggling intense practices, clinical rotations, and exams forced me to develop strong time management skills, but there were moments when I felt overwhelmed. Nursing school itself was no joke—the workload was heavy, and the pressure to succeed was constant, especially since I set high standards for myself.
Then came the transition into adulthood. Moving to Texas with my sisters was exciting, but starting fresh in a new place had its own struggles. Adjusting to life as a full-time nurse while also trying to build my social media presence required me to find a balance between my career, personal life, and creative passions. Content creation can be unpredictable, and putting yourself out there comes with criticism and self-doubt.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a registered nurse and I work in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) I’m known to be dedicated and passionate about taking care and helping others. I’m mostly proud of my journey. Moving to Houston, it was hard finding a job in my dream specialty the NICU, but I was able to by the grace of God. What sets me apart from others is that I’m passionate about learning new things and growing my skill set.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I see risk-taking as a necessary part of growth, and while I may not be reckless, I’m not afraid to step outside my comfort zone when I know it can lead to something better. As a nurse working night shifts, I took a major leap in my career by pursuing a position in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit after three years as a nurse extern. Outside of healthcare, I’ve also taken risks in the digital space, building a social media presence focused on nursing, lifestyle, and beauty. Putting myself out there wasn’t always easy, but I’ve learned to embrace the uncertainties that come with content creation. Most recently, I committed to the 75 Hard challenge, pushing myself physically and mentally. Whether in my career, personal development, or online presence, I see risk as an opportunity to learn, adapt, and achieve new heights.
