Today we’d like to introduce you to Jillian Clark-Lewis.
Hi Jillian, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into massage therapy wasn’t exactly planned out, but I know now that it was God-led every step of the way. I started massage school before I became a mom, just following this pull I felt toward healing and helping others. I didn’t have it all figured out, I sort of just trusted that I was being led in the right direction.
I became a single mom to a nonverbal child with special needs and that completely changed my life. There were seasons in my life where it was just so physically, emotionally, and financially hard But God gave me strength and resilience this journey wasn’t just about meit was about being a light for others, even on the hard days.
every time I work with my client, I see it as more than just a massage. It’s a moment of peace, restoration, and care. I know what it’s like to carry heavy things silently, I want to help others feel seen and supported and massage helps me do that it’s how I show love, create calm, and give people a space to just breathe and be.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been a lot of ups and downs, especially as a single mom trying to juggle everything. One of the biggest challenges has been financially just trying to make ends meet while also being there for my son and staying committed to my career.
I also dealt with burnout. I was so focused on taking care of everyone else clients, my child, daily responsibilities I forgot about myself. My massages my self-care my healing my rest and reset and that caught up to me physically and emotionally.
Those hard seasons taught me a lot. I’ve learned the importance of self-care and setting boundaries, I now try to give myself the same grace and attention I offer others. still a work in progress I ain’t perfect but I’m in a better place
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a licensed massage therapist, and I recently became a licensed esthetician as well. My work is all about helping people feel cared for in all 3 forms mind, body, and spirit. I specialize in creating a peaceful, intentional space where clients can relax, let go, and feel truly seen.
What sets me apart is the that i bring a peace into each session. I don’t just focus on the physical I pay attention to the emotional as well. People can carry this spiritual heaviness and i will try to address that too I want to tailor every massage to the clients personal needs and because i do that id say most of my clients tell me they leave feeling lighter, not just in their muscles but in their hearts as well so that’s super cool imo
How do you think about happiness?
good people, and definitely good food! I love being around my family and friends laughing, talking, and just enjoying each other The gym is my release, but dancing is my joy! I dance everywhere lol
I really ove being outside and having the sun hit my face , as well as painting but I also really enjoy my alone time with the Lord whether I’m praying or in the word it keeps me at peace and appreciating the life I have
