Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan B. Williams. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Jonathan Brice Williams is a fitness professional, entrepreneur, and online coach.
Born & Raised in Houston, TX, he began athletics at the age of 13, competitively participating in Basketball, Football, and Track & Field for Pearland High School (Oilers).
Jonathan was awarded a track & field scholarship to Texas State University in 2006.
Unfortunately, after minor injuries and academic struggles he was released from the athletic program and left without an athletic home.
Through dedication to his studies and personal development, he not only had another chance to return to the athletic arena with the University of Houston, but also earned the opportunity to play football, becoming a two-sport athlete for the Cougars (2008-2011).
Jonathan graduated from the University of Houston with a BS in Sports Administration.
Post-college, after undergoing a major knee surgery, Jonathan played football semi-professionally in various Texas leagues including The Spring League catching the eye of NFL teams, but nothing ever panned out.
As a fitness professional, Jonathan has dedicated his talent to helping others understand their body type and what’s best for their fitness goals. He dedicated 8 years of knowledge in the corporate wellness industry educating at-risk clients on best health & fitness practices.
As a consultant, Jonathan uses his degree and years of market research to help small businesses and media influencers in need of online strategic optimization.
In his free time, he loves spending time with his daughter, Journee and volunteering at St. Thomas High School as a mentor for football and track student-athletes.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not a smooth road.
I suffered physically and academically as a freshman student-athlete, landing me on academic probation and a torn pectoral.
Working to pull my grades up and after losing my scholarship after my freshmen year with my first university, I set goals to come back home and make a fresh start at the University of Houston.
After a smooth and successful career as a two-sport athlete for the Cougars, I suffered a sudden torn patella tendon injury one week prior to graduation.
Shattering my dreams and opportunities for an official pro day/combine and leaving me without a solid long-term plan.
30 days after my surgery, I was a college graduate with one healthy leg and no job.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in the research and education of body types and brand strategies.
I’m best known for my Instagram and YouTube platforms where I provide information on how to best approach body types, self-help tips for branding, and life skills.
I’m most proud of my resilience and my ability to make complicated information simple for my audience.
What does success mean to you?
Success is the ability to smile in the mirror. The emotion of self-assuredness and optimism is success.
