Today we’d like to introduce you to Kirsten Maddison.
Hi Kirsten, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story started when I was a little girl.
I was always into fashion—my mom made sure of that. From Barbie dolls and fashion stencil kits to encouraging me when I wanted to learn how to sew, she saw my interest early on. I used to play a TV plug-in game called Designer’s World and spent hours on Style Savvy for the Nintendo DS. If you know, you know!
From my dad, I got the drive to build something of my own. He always had that creative, entrepreneurial mindset—and I definitely picked that up.
I carried my love for fashion into college, where I earned my B.S. in Fashion Merchandising. I enjoyed it, but looking back, I wish I had pushed myself more and stepped out of my comfort zone. That’s advice I’d give to anyone wanting to be in this industry—and something I’m still working on myself, both in fashion and in everyday life.
She’s A 10 officially launched in October 2019.
At the time, I had no idea what direction I was going in, but I believed in my looks, my mindset, and most of all, myself. I started with accessories from a vendor—not because that was the dream, but because I knew I had to start somewhere.
Since then, I’ve worn every hat: CEO, creative director, investor, photographer, model—you name it. But I’m not doing it alone.
I have the most amazing support system: my cousins Mikayla and Destini, and my sister Kaylin Maddison. Honestly, they’re all sisters to me. They’ve always had my back—whether it’s modeling, getting behind-the-scenes content, or hyping up my brand like it’s their own.
I’m also incredibly thankful for my boyfriend, Ridge Hardy, founder of media company Red Balloon. He’s supported She’s A 10 since the day we met and helped create space for me to share my story.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think the biggest challenge I’ve faced since starting She’s A 10 has been getting out of my own head—and my own way. People can support you, but at the end of the day, you have to go the hardest for yourself. You’re the one who has to get in front of the camera, speak up, tell your story, and promote your brand.
Marketing is everything, and sometimes money can hold that back when you don’t always have it. But I’ve been finding ways to make things stand out regardless. One example was doing public interviews around Houston, asking people: What does it mean to you to be a 10? What does She’s A 10 mean to you?
That was new territory for me—but it pushed me out of my comfort zone, like I mentioned earlier. And I really believe the more I do things like that, the more my audience will grow.
So yes—getting out of my own way and building my audience has definitely been a challenge. But it’s one I’m learning to face head-on.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I took about two years off from working on She’s A 10, but it never left my heart or mind. When I came back to it, I finally discovered the true meaning behind the brand.
She’s A 10 is about self-love, ambition, confidence, and sexiness—for the woman who’s constantly evolving and transforming her world. These words represent so many women who wake up every day and go after what they want, no matter what they’re facing.
I want to inspire women to believe that, even in hard times, they are still a 10. It’s not just about looks—it’s about your heart and your mindset. You can be going through it: hair not done, nails chipped, relationship drama, financial struggles—but deep down, you know you’re working toward better. You refuse to let anything lower your self-worth.
When someone puts on one of my Tees from my newest drop, She’s A 10, But You Lost Her from the Gentle Reminder Collection, I want her to feel unstoppable. No matter what tries to bring her down, she’s still a 10. She’ll walk away from anything that doesn’t serve her—and whoever let her go will remember exactly who she is.
My brand is for women, but this collection is for both women and men. We love a man who proudly stands beside a 10 and reminds her who she is. So I encourage men to shop, too—because there’s power in showing love to a woman you see and value fully.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I am a walking testimony of my brand. I’m a woman who has fallen and gotten back up more than once—and that “fall” can look and feel different for everyone. No one’s story is the same, but I want every woman to feel the same way when it comes to She’s A 10:
Sexy, confident, ambitious—with self-love and motivation beaming off her. A genuine 10, inside and out.
