Today we’d like to introduce you to Kishma George.
Hi Kishma, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story is one of faith, resilience, purpose, and transformation. I am a woman who learned that even in life’s hardest moments, God can use pain as preparation for purpose. My journey has not been without challenges, disappointments, setbacks, or seasons of uncertainty, but through every obstacle, I discovered that adversity does not define you it develops you.
I am the founder of K.I.S.H. Home, Inc., a transitional and independent living program created to provide hope, housing, support, and empowerment to individuals facing homelessness, housing instability, recovery, reentry, and difficult life transitions. K.I.S.H. Home was birthed from a deep passion to help people rebuild their lives, restore dignity, and realize that their current circumstances do not determine their future. I believe everyone deserves a safe place to heal, grow, and dream again.
Beyond housing and advocacy, I am also an entrepreneur, speaker, mentor, media personality, and visionary committed to helping others birth their dreams and walk boldly in purpose. Through my speaking platforms, television and radio opportunities, magazine features, mentorship programs, and global initiatives, my mission has always been to inspire people to move from pain to purpose and from survival to significance.
Faith has been the foundation of everything I do. There were moments in my life when I could have given up, but I trusted God’s promises even when I could not see the full picture. I truly believe that purpose is often born in pressure, and many of the things I now lead came through prayer, perseverance, and trusting God during difficult seasons.
Today, my story is still being written. I am passionate about empowering women, families, leaders, and dreamers to understand that setbacks are not the end of the story. I want people to know that with faith, determination, and the right support, healing and new beginnings are possible. My life’s mission is to remind others that no matter where they start, they can rise, rebuild, and become everything God has called them to be.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like many entrepreneurs and visionaries, my journey has come with its share of obstacles, setbacks, and moments that tested my faith and resilience. One of the biggest challenges has been building purpose-driven organizations and initiatives while navigating limited resources, financial barriers, and the pressure that comes with leading something designed to truly impact lives.
When you are called to help others especially individuals facing homelessness, housing instability, recovery, trauma, or life transitions you quickly realize that the need is often greater than the resources available. There were times when I had to push through uncertainty, closed doors, delays, and moments where things did not happen as quickly as I hoped. I’ve had to learn patience, persistence, and how to remain focused even when the process became difficult.
Another challenge has been balancing multiple roles as a leader, entrepreneur, mentor, media personality, and advocate while still protecting my peace, health, and purpose. Building something meaningful requires sacrifice, discipline, and consistency, even during seasons when motivation feels low or circumstances are challenging.
I have also faced moments of doubt not just from others, but sometimes internally wondering if the vision was too big or if the impact I desired was truly possible. But every challenge became a lesson. Every setback taught me resilience. Every disappointment pushed me closer to purpose.
Through it all, my faith has been my anchor. I truly believe challenges are not meant to destroy us but to develop us. Obstacles taught me how to pray differently, lead stronger, think creatively, and trust God even when I could not see the full picture.
Looking back, I realize that some of my greatest struggles became the foundation of my greatest strengths. Those experiences gave me compassion, wisdom, and a deeper passion for helping others know that difficult seasons do not last forever. I want people to understand that challenges may shape you, but they do not have to stop you. With faith, perseverance, and purpose, you can rise above adversity and still walk into everything you were created to become.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
One of the biggest risks I ever took was stepping out on faith to launch organizations, programs, and platforms that were bigger than my comfort zone and resources at the time. Starting K.I.S.H. Home, Inc. was a major leap of faith because it required me to believe in a vision that I knew would impact lives, even when I did not have every answer, every connection, or every resource in place.
There were moments when fear, uncertainty, and challenges tried to make me second-guess the vision. Building something that serves individuals experiencing homelessness, life transitions, recovery, and instability comes with real responsibility and sacrifice. However, I knew that if God placed the vision in my heart, He would provide the strategy, strength, and people to help bring it to life.
I have also taken risks in stepping into media, mentorship, publishing, speaking, and creating platforms that empower others globally. Many times, I had to move forward before feeling completely “ready.” I learned that growth often happens outside of comfort zones, and sometimes you have to trust the process even when you cannot see the full outcome.
What I learned most is that faith and risk often go hand in hand. You cannot ask for big purpose and remain in small places of fear. I learned that failure is not something to fear it is often a lesson, redirection, or preparation for something greater. Every challenge strengthened my resilience, deepened my faith, and reminded me that obedience to purpose is greater than fear of uncertainty.
Taking risks taught me that when you trust God, stay consistent, and remain committed to your mission, doors will open, lives will be impacted, and what once seemed impossible can become reality. Sometimes the greatest blessing is on the other side of your “yes.”
