Life & Work with LaTonya “LadyDiva” Washington

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTonya “LadyDiva” Washington.

Hi LaTonya, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
For years, I had a passion of organization. I truly believe everything must have a home. I remember as a child I’d sort out everything including my Barbie dolls and their accessories. Once I became a wife to Kenneth Washington and a mother of 3 Kenya, Keionte, and Kyra Washington. I’d found myself organizing, decluttering and downsizing everything in our home. In 2016 I created a vision board and God gave me a name for my organization’s business. LadyDiva’s Divine Beauty Reform.

Lady is how I carry myself and D.I.V.A is an acronym I have a DIVINE INSPIRATIONAL VICTORIOUS ATTITUDE.

Divine Beauty Reform means everything of God is delightful and people can change for the greater good in life.

When we remove unnecessary items from our homes an emotional feeling of peace and clarity comes over our bodies that makes us want to relax. As a hardworking Mother and Wife I know how busy life expectations can be to the point you really don’t have time nor patience to organize anything. I want to help Kings and Queens with functional organization so they wouldn’t feel overwhelmed in their physical space as well as their mental space.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a brand new business is always scary and exciting because you’re unaware of the unknown and possibilities of life expectations. I personally pray daily to God to order my steps in the direction he wants me to go. I’m literally walking by faith and not by sight. He’s ahead of my life and my business. I give all of my worries and fears to him. When he tells me to move, I’m moving. He’s taking me places I never been and connecting me with people who aligns with me spiritually and mentally. I had people in my life who known me since I was younger and they subconsciously think I still have the same mindset I had than versus what I have now. They may not understand change is good, it’s a part of growth. I’m still me but I’m a better version of me who is evolving daily. I wasn’t created to “ fit in “ when I’m born to stand out. I also learned I can’t take everyone with me where God is leading me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Professional Organizer who specializes in Home Organization as well as Church Organization. I help Kings and Queens with Functional Organization so they wouldn’t feel overwhelmed in their physical space as well as their mental space.

What sets me apart from others is my faith in God who supplies all of my needs, I’m very creative, God blessed me with a gift to see what the average eye doesn’t see. I’m proud of allowing myself to step outside of my comfort zone by walking in purpose. I’m excited to see what God has in-store for me and my business. I’m a firm believer when stumbling blocks hits my pathway I can’t be at a standstill I have to continue to move forward because there is always sunshine after a stormy weather. I love helping all of God’s children because I have unconditional love for them.

The Destination to my Divine Clients :

– Encourage them to believe in themselves they can do All things through Christ

– Encourage them to continue to move forward in the midst of trials and tribulations

– Empowered them through personal development

– To walk on purpose

– To declutter their homes as well as their mindset

Decluttering and Organizing your home not only saves you money it helps you keep track on what you have and what you need. Removing things that no longer serves you purpose can benefit your mental health by making you feel, happier and at peace. Having a clean organized home provides a steady foundation to having a positive mindset.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is spending quality time with my family. I’m the oldest of one sibling and that is my baby sister Erica Mayfield. Our parents Herman and Yolanda Mayfield would take us to Fiesta Texas in San Antonio during spring break and the summer. My sister was very shy while I was very adventurous. I was shocked when she allowed the parrots to be on her shoulders. Lol. On the weekends we always went fishing in Texas City and Galveston. My dad would fish all night long while we’re sleeping in the camper. I remember one night he caught a baby shark but of course, he let it go. I’m so grateful my dad taught me to fish because I utilized my skill set when I went to camp Olympia in grade school I was the only student that caught a fish.
