Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Meunier.
Hi Maria, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started doing affirmations and manifesting in Peru almost 20 years ago. I was in an abusive relationship for 12 years with the father of my girls and I felt like there was no way out but it was time to do something about it, I went to see a spiritual therapist friend who was also my student who knew my situation and invited me to a workshop she was hosting, she told me I needed to work on my self-esteem first, so she gave me the book “ el poder esta dentro de ti “ by Louise Hay. I read it and started my affirmations journal and started consciously manifesting everything I wanted. The first affirmation I ever wrote was “ I love myself “ which brought me to tears each time, with consistency and teaching my girls this new way of healing I started feeling better about myself and I knew I had to leave that abusive relationship. Within our healing process, I manifested to work at a tourist company and move to a better area in Peru providing for my girls as a single mother and that’s when I met my husband and father figure to my girls, we moved to the United States where we have been living for the past almost 13 years. As wonderful as our time here in the United States has been we have been away from our family in Peru, last year my younger brother suddenly passed away from cancer and as we were grieving and coping with the loss, my daughters had an idea that we considered a sign from the universe and our angel to start sharing the power of manifesting and affirmations through candles, that’s where our journey as business owners started, we love what we do, sharing our knowledge and personal experiences with how powerful we are from within is what motivates us to keep doing this every day. Consistently growing and learning in the business world while helping others is how we are now able to open our first storefront and office, we are very excited to keep spreading positivity through our products but most importantly we feel so grateful to be able to help others who might be struggling and might not see a way out, there’s always a way.. it all starts from within, your self-love and awareness can guide you through any difficult situation.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes and no, we’ve had to adjust and be flexible with changes, throughout our journey we’ve dealt with low sales, different points of view within us, and modifying our products. Nevertheless, every single struggle has only helped us grow as a company and through our products.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We create products to help others in their manifestation journey, we are mostly known for our candles but we have recently branched out and added more manifestation products including apparel, affirmation notepads, jewelry, and more. we are most proud of our affirmation candles, our candles are categorized as love, self-esteem, health, and wealth, each category has its own signature scent and affirmation.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to us is spending time with each other and our families. When we started our business we knew flexibility in our schedules was our top priority, we value family time and spending time with the little ones in the family. After everything we’ve been through as a family, success to us is making sure everyone who is in our energy feels empowered from within, if we can do it.. anyone can do it too.
