Life & Work with Marius van Eeden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marius van Eeden.

Marius van Eeden

Hi Marius, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey started when I was seven years old. My parents, grandparents, and myself went on a trip to Disney World, and that was my first time in America. Coming from South Africa and being in America for the first time had such a big influence in my life that from that trip, I always wanted to move to America. Fast forward to January 2013, where I boarded a plane after quitting my job and receiving my green card to try and start a new life in America. The first few weeks in America was some of the hardest times I had to deal with. I only had my two suitcases I brought with me and had no friends, no family, and no job. I did have my family back in South Africa that where still supporting me and wanted to move back to South Africa so badly but couldn’t give up on my dream as a kid and knew I would regret it if I moved back. After being here three months, I finally got a job which I’m still at the same company. I have been looking on doing a side business for a while to not only to make extra money but learn something new and learn new skills. During the covid pandemic, I also realized how important it is to have multiple streams of income as so many people either lost their jobs or had to take pay cuts during the pandemic. I have always been interested in real estate from an investment perspective, and I have always been looking at houses on the market for fun but was looking at possibly buying a house at some point. After my wife and I bought our first house, I felt that the experience got me even more interested in real estate. Since then, I decided to get my real estate license to be an independent contractor. While studying for my real estate test, I started to enjoy real estate even more as I didn’t realize there was so much involved, from learning sales, marketing, finance, contracts, etc. Once I received my license, I interviewed with various brokers and decided to sign with Keller Williams. Since then, I’m still at Keller Williams, building my brand and helping clients achieve their real estate goals.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. The first month of signing with Keller Williams was very overwhelming, and I doubted myself if I could do this. After attending the training classes and meeting real estate agents, I started feeling more comfortable and went from doubting myself to being excited to do my first open house and getting that first client.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a real estate professional, my work revolves around providing personalized and dedicated service to my clients. I specialize in helping buyers and sellers navigate the real estate market with a focus on residential properties in the local area.

One of the things I am known for is my attention to detail and commitment to understanding the unique needs and preferences of each client. I take the time to listen and comprehend their specific requirements, ensuring that I can tailor my approach to meet their goals effectively.

What I am most proud of is the trust and rapport I’ve built with my clients and building a trustworthy and respectful brand.

What sets me apart from others is my dedication to delivering exceptional customer service and fostering long-lasting relationships. I strive to provide a seamless and stress-free experience.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My advice will be to surround yourself and follow self-mined successful people. Also, find someone in your office or field that you can ask questions, bounce ideas of, and who is willing to give you advice. I also follow successful real estate agents and brokers on social media and read their books on how they became successful and the advice that share.
