Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I moved to Houston in 2007. I’ve always wanted to be a Stylist. I’ve been doing hair since middle school. When I finished high school, I always knew I wanted to move to a big city to pursue my dream. Although I had a couple of setbacks, I was always determined to build and build to the point where I had my own salon. Despite not finishing high school but receiving my GED and attending 3-to 4 beauty schools, I still managed to finish strong, and now I’m teaching other stylists how it can be done.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t always been smooth; I received my GED after not passing a part of the TASS test. Once I received my GED, I went to Cosmo school. During that time, I got pregnant with my first baby, I then moved to Houston when he was two weeks old. I went to many Cosmo schools (3-4), but I finally finished at Franklin Beauty. I received my license, and since then, I hustled hard to build clientele because I didn’t know anyone in the city. I had to hustle and build to get my name out there. I remember sitting in the salon, wishing someone would come in for an appointment. Now, my books are booked and busy, plus I’m teaching other stylists how to build, market, network, and more.

I’m a Master Hairstylist & Educator. I specialize in Healthy Haircare & Luxury Hair Extensions. I also teach other Beauty Professionals How-To 6-Figure their business.
