Life & Work with Nicole Ketchum of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Ketchum

Hi Nicole, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story began at age 11 after losing my mother. I faced many adversities, including depression, molestation, grief, domestic violence, mental abuse, addiction, and breast cancer. Suppressing my feelings with pain pills led me to spiral downward. However, God intervened, and in my solitude, I began to heal and do the inner work. During this time, I wrote Liberated, documenting my darkest moments. With God’s help, I overcame these challenges. The journey hasn’t been easy, but I’m grateful for His grace and mercy.

Reflecting on my journey, I realize how each struggle shaped me into the person I am today. The pain and hardships taught me resilience, and the moments of despair deepened my faith. Writing Liberated was not just a therapeutic process but a testament to the strength that lies within us all. I hope my story inspires others to find their own path to healing and liberation with Jesus.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, this was not an easy road. I struggled with doubt and embarrassment, worrying about what others would think of me after I wrote the book. But then God reminded me that it does not matter what others think! This is not about me; I was used for His glory to show others what God can do if they continue to pray. The Bible tells us, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). In other words, if we get out of our own way, do the work, and pray, God will do His part.

People will always have something to say because they are never satisfied, whether it’s good or bad. When we begin to trust God in the process, that is where the reward comes. That is why I continued to write for God’s glory!

I encourage you to reflect on your own journey and trust in God’s plan for you. No matter the challenges you face, remember that with faith and perseverance, you can overcome anything.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The book is available on Amazon “Liberated” Healing the little girl inside.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I have a deep love for nature. Observing all the things God created truly amazes me. I especially enjoy connecting with the trees and simply watching them. Nature inspires me with its beauty and resilience. It reminds me of God’s creativity and the intricate balance of life. Being in nature helps me feel grounded and rejuvenated, providing a sense of peace and inspiration for my daily life.
