Today we’d like to introduce you to Ninasimone Robinson.
Hi Ninasimone, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always been a fit person, I am also a retired high school athlete. When I became pregnant I gained 75 lbs and weighed 225 the biggest I have ever been in my life. It took a toll on my mental health and i gave up on myself. Once my son turned 1 i made a promise to myself to put my health first. I started with pilates which really helped with my discipline and motivation to keep going. Now i strictly workout at home due to my schedule. Through this journey I have found a love for helping women experiencing postpartum, especially through fitness.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all! As a first time mom you experience a lot of mom guilt. You are so unsure of yourself and the journey that you are on. When it was time to workout I was so nervous, especially because I had a c-section. It was so hard sticking to the workout routine due to the pain in my pelvis. Recovering from major surgery is already hard enough but also trying to take care of a baby makes it ten times harder.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
right now I am a stay at home mom working on building up my postpartum fitness business. I am working on getting my fitness certification so that I can help other moms through their postpartum fitness journey. I am most know for losing weight and providing information and workouts for other moms to use. I am most proud of putting my health first so that I can take care of my son. My passion behind what I am doing is what sets me apart. I never give up and always push through any struggle I am experiencing.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see the fitness industry being the number 1 industry because people are getting serious about their health. People are smoking and drinking less and being more cautious about what they put in their body. The big shift has already happened the new generations are already putting their health first way more than past generations.
