Today we’d like to introduce you to Raman Binning.
Hi Raman, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The story of Autobahn Exotic Rentals starts long before me or my brother were born. Decades back, our father came from India to America with a dream. He spent long days driving a truck for many years until he was finally able to start his own trucking company after countless deliveries. A few years after my brother and I were born, he had saved up enough to move into the hospitality business where we were fortunate enough to see success and live a comfortable life. Having spent a large portion of his life inside a vehicle, the one thing my father passed onto my brother and I was appreciating a vehicle. While growing up, my brother and I grew to appreciate cars. We, too, spent a fair portion of our lives inside a vehicle for teens, especially as we commuted around one of the largest cities in the U.S. When we had a bit of extra money come into our hands, we decided to diversify our investments and go into the automotive industry. We realized that exotic rentals were a lucrative business, and the current market was in our favor. We could get brand new exotic vehicles cheaper than used vehicles, something we personally never saw.
With the U.S. getting out of the COVID-19 hysteria in September 2021, we decided to start an exotic rental business in the hopes that we could get rentals for events such as weddings, as they had started to pick back up. We spent hundreds of hours in September researching every aspect of the field, meeting with connections around Houston, car shopping for the best deals, and connecting with partners. Starting only with a Mercedes E53 AMG in the beginning of September, we quickly grew to acquire a Corvette C8, a BMW i8, a Lamborghini Urus, and a Jeep Wrangler High Altitude by the end of December. While we’re not a huge business, we hope to grow our vehicle inventory to over twenty cars and have steady rentals by the end of 2023.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been far from a perfect road. Initially, we struggled with getting started. With the current vehicle market, cars were extremely difficult to come by. It took us over two months just to secure the Lamborghini Urus. Since I’m a college student with an intensive course load and my brother is working as an accountant at a firm and helps run the family business, that means the nights and early mornings are our time to get crucial things done. Whether that means staying up until 3am making contracts, discussing deals and partnerships, or waking up at 5am to get a delivery to someone, we are always sacrificing. Everyone is always saying to start a business, but never states that large sacrifices and commitments are accompanied with starting a business. However, this isn’t to say that we don’t have our smooth roads alongside our bumps. There are times when things just fit perfectly into our schedule. Customers are understanding of any unforeseen circumstances that arise, and partnerships work out in the favor of both parties.

I think that we’re most proud of our charity fundraiser that we’re currently doing. We’re currently working with an elementary school to raise money for the kids through biddings. We decided to give out a free weekend rental on our Corvette C8 or Lamborghini Urus. We’re thankful and grateful to have been blessed with success and we want to show our gratitude by giving back to the community. Usually, this is an annual fundraiser, and we plan on partnering with this elementary school in the future as well. What sets us apart is who we are. We’re two brothers trying to bring a smile to peoples’ faces. We want to provide an unforgettable experience, one that will be a memory you forever cherish. We provide these experiences at a low price and look for opportunities in which we can give back.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is any hands-on work, anything that I can physically design, build, or work on. I’ve always been a curious person and because of that, I’ve always wondered how things work. I grew up building models of guns and airplanes and dozens of other things. I took woodshop classes in middle school and coding and engineering classes in high school. To no surprise, I’m an architecture major right now. I also love making modifications to my car and constantly watching videos on how cars work, detailed videos about certain parts and concepts on cars, and even videos relating scientific and mathematical concepts. Learning and fueling my curiosity with hands-on work has always been something that makes me happy.
My brother, on the other hand, always loved loud and fast cars. Whenever he saw a flashy car drive around Houston, the first thing he would do was take a picture of it. He always dreamed of sitting in the car and driving it for himself. It sounds corny but that was his American Dream. He has spent numerous hours ever since he was a teen helping out with the family business and even working at a job as soon as he was able to just so that he could afford his first sports car. Even then, he always dreamed about driving around exotics that he saw all around Houston. Now he doesn’t need to dream about it, because he’s literally living it. We want that same experience for everyone else. We don’t want you to just look at the car and stare in amazement; we want you to experience the car first hand by sitting in the driver seat and taking it for a spin yourself.
