Hi Richard, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started in the mortgage industry the same way a lot of people discover their calling by realizing firsthand how life changing homeownership can be and wanting to be the guy who makes that happen for others. Over the years, I worked my way up, learned the grind, learned the numbers, learned the people, and built a reputation for showing up when most folks are already signing off for the day.
Today, I’m the Regional Manager at NextMortgage and proud to be known as #MrNextMortgage the guy who gets families into homes, even when they’ve been told “no” everywhere else. I’ve helped build offices, open new markets, nurture agents, and grow teams. I’ve been consistent with my KPIs for five straight years and still treat every deal like it’s the first one someone ever trusted me with.
I’m also a husband and a father of five, which means I’m motivated, organized, and fueled by equal parts love, chaos, and coffee. Everything I’ve accomplished comes from putting family first mine and the families I help every day.
From grinding through long days to speaking at national real estate conferences, from closing impossible loans to mentoring the next generation of loan officers, every step has been about building something bigger than myself: trust, relationships, and opportunities for the people I serve.
And I’m just getting started.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t been smooth. Far from it. The mortgage world will humble you faster than a Texas summer will melt an ice cream cone.
There were times when deals fell apart at the last minute. Times when underwriting felt like it was personally trying to test your sanity. Times when you had to fight for clients who had already been told “no” by everyone else. And let’s not forget the juggling act of being a husband, a dad to five kids, and a leader in a constantly shifting industry that alone could qualify as an Olympic sport.
You’ve dealt with market swings, rate hikes, low inventory, team changes, compliance updates, staffing challenges, and the good old-fashioned “why is this happening on a Friday at 4:45PM?” moments that every loan officer knows too well.
Every tough season taught me something that made me better and more strategic, more grounded, more capable.
The struggles weren’t roadblocks; they were the training ground.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in pre-approvals, guiding first-time buyers, and solving the tough cases other lenders usually pass on. If someone’s been told “no,” that’s usually when my phone rings.

I’m most proud of the families we’ve helped and especially the ones who thought owning a home was out of reach. Nothing beats handing someone the keys to their future when they’d already given up. I’m also proud of leading and growing our team, building relationships with agents across multiple markets, and representing NextMortgage at national conferences.

I treat every client like family and because I know what family means. I bring experience, consistency, a problem solver mindset, and a no excuses work ethic. And I’m not afraid to hustle harder than the next guy. At the end of the day, people want someone they can trust with the biggest financial step of their life.
