Today we’d like to introduce you to Sariah Khalil
Hi Sariah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in a deeply creative family where music and self-expression were always present—I spent my childhood singing, surrounded by a love for the arts. From an early age, I was drawn to fashion, dreaming of designing dresses and envisioning a future as a fashion designer. My goal was to study in New York, but life led me to Houston Baptist University, where I pursued a degree in marketing. Over the past five years, I’ve been carving out my path as a creator, sharing my creative vision, passions, and personal experiences with a growing audience. Today, my focus is on fashion, lifestyle, wellness, and highlighting the vibrant restaurant scene in Houston.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Growing up, I didn’t have the most privileged circumstances. My father was an immigrant from Palestine, and as the first generation in this country, navigating that reality was no easy feat. There was a constant need to establish roots, build from the ground up, and fight for every opportunity. I’ve had to take on so much by myself, and the journey hasn’t been easy. There were nights I cried myself to sleep, days when money was scarce, and moments when the weight of it all felt unbearable. Anxiety has been another struggle I’ve had to carry with me, compounding the challenges. But despite all that, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. All the hardships, all the sleepless nights, and every tear shed have shaped me. I can now look back and see that each obstacle has been a step forward, bringing me exactly where I need to be. My story is a testament to perseverance, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Currently, I work full-time in events management and client experience at one of the largest real estate conglomerates in the world. While this role provides me with a dynamic and challenging environment, my true passions lie in fashion, lifestyle, and wellness. Through my online creation, I share content that aligns with my heart and purpose, allowing me to express my love for archival fashion, styling my friends, and keeping up with the latest runway trends. Alongside this, I’m deeply passionate about wellness, whether it’s indulging in Matcha or exploring the latest fitness fads. My recent journey led me to become a Pilates instructor, an experience that has been both fulfilling and transformative. Teaching Pilates not only allows me to connect with others but also gives me the chance to mentor and empower women, helping them embrace movement and wellness in their own lives. It’s been incredibly rewarding, and I feel it’s brought me closer to my true purpose.
What makes me feel most rewarded and proud is my perseverance. Every day, I get up and put my best foot forward, even when I’m faced with struggles or challenges. It’s not always easy, but I’ve learned that consistency truly is key—and it’s something I live by. I think this determination is what sets me apart from others. I have the ability to keep going and work in a way that not many people are able to, and I attribute that to my personality and how I’m built. I thrive on socializing, creating, and building meaningful relationships. I find so much joy in pursuing creative endeavors that it often doesn’t even feel like work. It’s just who I am, and I’m grateful to be able to do what I love every day.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice to anyone just starting out is simple: just do it. Stop overthinking and getting bogged down by the details. Put something out there—anything. It doesn’t have to be perfect. If you look up videos on YouTube about how successful people started their businesses, you’ll often see them showing extremely basic sketches or rough ideas of what they dreamed of. The only difference between them and you is that they took action. They initiated movement toward their goal. Not every goal will be easy to accomplish, and sometimes you might even find that what you thought you wanted isn’t quite what you expected once you get there. But if you show up every day, keep working, and stay consistent, you will make progress. The key is initiative—and I can promise you, if you keep putting in the effort, you will get somewhere.
