Today we’d like to introduce you to Serenity Hill.
Hi Serenity, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Modeling became a reality for me in 2015 when I was officially signed to a Houston agency. I had the opportunity to walk in fashion shows, pose for photoshoots and meet so many great people. As time went on, I wanted to explore the entertainment and fashion world as a whole and take a back seat to model life. Branching off into my own realm, I began creative directing for photoshoots, music videos, fashion shows, and other events. I found a way to balance being a Director and model and from that birthed The Serenity Project Group. An outlet that allows models, actors, music artists, and dancers to grow their talent and get booked. Having an agency of my own has opened so many doors in the entertainment and fashion industry.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing you want will come easy. But that is the best part of the journey. You’ll even want to give up sometimes. I’ve learned to always have multiple backup plans and expect people to let me down. So many people. To be a great leader you have to learn how to follow, listen and communicate well. Do your part and make it your best. Some people are seasonal, some are long-term, and sometimes you will never know who is who. The people who are long-term will see the integrity and will naturally gravitate to the same goals as you.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a model, creative Director, and casting agent. The Serenity Project Group offers management, training and directing services. I am amazed at my team more and more every day. We have grown so quickly and have worked with a plethora of noteworthy people. Grateful is the best word to describe our success.
What sets us apart from other agencies or companies is our virtue towards our talent. We always want them to thrive just as they are.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Be yourself and ask questions. Mentors may come in many forms. The best way to find a mentor or make new connections is to expose yourself to different environments and social settings. A mentor doesn’t necessarily have to be in the same industry as you either, just a trusting person who has your best interests and can help guide you.
