Today we’d like to introduce you to Tavia Brooks.
Hi Tavia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Tavia Brooks is a country singer born and raised in Houston Texas. Tavia grew up with a big family of seven. she took on music at the age of 10 performing in front of friends, family, neighbors and Also talent shows. Her dad coached her with vocal training and stage presence getting her ready for major performances throughout her career. Tavia got into the country genre because of her upbringing, family owning cattle hogs and horses with her family being musicians in zydeco bands and jamming country all the time from Barbara Mandrell to Reba Mcentire. Tavia Brooks is now seeking for more than just singing, she also wants to do acting on stage and screen, with the help of her voice and acting classes she became Chiffon in the play of “the little shop of horror’s”. With hard work, dedication,faith and consistency Tavia is pushing to be one of the greatest in Country Music just watch and see.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Ooooh No.. I hit hardships like everyone else. Emotional RollerCoasters not knowing if I’m doing the right steps or trusting the right people, trying to make ends meet to pay bills and music, I even one day drove all the way to Austin to perform and found out I can’t perform with my band because the crowd might not be “ready” to see me perform ( if you get what I mean). I even had one show in Anahuac Texas where the sound didn’t care for people who look like me so he did my sound so bad on stage.. had my mic so low the fiddle player was louder than me. All I say in my head to keep me going is “I want to make people happy with my music and to hear and see me. I want to prove to myself I can become one of the greats the help others along the way who wants to be like me.” That’s my motivation to stay on this un-smooth road.

I am an Artist/Entertainer, I am more than just a Country Singer. I love to put on a show when I’m on stage and also try new things as in auditioning & acting in plays. I also love working out a lot. People know for country music and health. The most thing I’m proud of is when I took the chance and audition for the theater play little shop of horrors, I was nervous out my mind trying to remember lines and I went in there and was like I can only get a yes or no so give it all. Lol.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me Happy is able to breathe, like example seeing my work and practicing get put to use. What also makes me happy spending time with my horse Dolly and my dog Brodie Lee, the personalities between them two is funny and they actually put smiles on my face when I’m down.
