Today we’d like to introduce you to Teanikia Rodgers.
Teanikia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When I was 19 years old, I found out that I was pregnant & I knew I wanted to build a life for me and my daughter something that would generate an income to support the both of us while I was working. I knew it just wasn’t for me things slightly took a turn for the worst my daughter was diagnosed with turners syndrome a rare genetic disease that effect 1 in every 2,000 women in the U.S. Shortly after her diagnoses, she passed away but I still had a dream of starting some type of business. I’ve always been into hair so I decided to take a route I was familiar with so I started a hair line “Takaniextensions “ in memory of my Precious baby girl “La’myya Takani”.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Started the business was not easy. I was so lost because I had no help it was just me and I was still recovering from the loss of my daughter so my head wasn’t always on straight but everything worked out how it was supposed to because I kept God first and I never gave up. The road has been a little bumpy but it never stopped the ambition and hustle I had.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in wigology. I help woman gain confidence through their crown (their hair) and I do it with a passion. I do everything to uplift and make Women feel like the best them.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I’m very spiritually in tune with myself and study the art of stones.
