Hi Abruce, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
My journey started with my love for tennis shoes and the sneaker culture. I originally started selling sneakers, sports memorabilia, and hip-hop collectibles on eBay, back in 2012.
I decided to brand my online commerce store and The Footprint Inc. was born. I got the name from a combination of my love for sneakers (each sneaker leaves a footprint) and a poem that I saw every day, that still hangs in my stepmother’s home today, Footprints in the Sand. So from eBay, I went from drop-shipping and reselling to creating my own clothing line; The Footprint Inc.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Starting your own business is never a smooth road. I have been learning the retail business through trial and error. I have been attempting different methods of marketing to expand the visibility of the business; which at times can be quite trying. Running a clothing line is very demanding.
One has to manage the marketing, product design, and production (because everything is produced in-house), producing and managing inventory (paying for all the inventory myself and managing the website and a couple of locations within Houston), WMK – Ware My Kicks in First Colony and Willowbrook Malls.

Collection, in 2020. Footprint Inc. specializes in custom gear to match your favorite pair of sneakers. The clothing line can also be purchased in two locations within Houston – First Colony & Willowbrook Malls. Footprint Inc. will be expanding its physical sales to sneaker boutiques in Indiana, Maryland, California, Georgia, New York, and Ohio.
