Meet Adabu Steven

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adabu Steven.

ADABU STEVEN who is an Afrobeat, Bongo Flavor and zouk roumba singer and songwriter has certainly made his way into the industry with an interesting style of music. He was born in the DR Congo but raised in Tanzania which is a huge jump in location but a fascinating story. By the age of 12, he began singing and playing drums in a choir where he learned to develop his voice as an artist. As the years went by of development… ADABU STEVEN also got nominated for The best new Artist of the Year 2017 at the African entertainment awards USA. (AEAUSA). Mr. Adabu working on his new music, he has just released a brand new hit single entitled “Bakokokate” even tho “Juliet, Kitu Napenda and Mwalimu still popping out there”. This particular record gives us a mixture of genres from Afro and zouk roumba. Most importantly the message within the song catches you instantly including a catchy hook to remember every single day…

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
What I’ve learned as you succeed, there will be a handful of people who will not be willing to support you. Success takes a tremendous amount of effort and sacrifice. The effort and time you need to put into your journey will not be tolerable to some who feel you owe them more of your time, effort or energy. The successful sacrifice an enormous amount to get to where they want to go, trusting that the people meant to travel their journey with them will accept and support the sacrifices which need to be made. You will likely lose relationships with those who do not passionately share in your vision. As you succeed, your path will narrow; there are fewer people at the top.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Music is my passion even though I love playing drums here and there. One thing that sets me apart from others is my background in music industry. I was able to create a number of so many artists so that together we can bring Swahili music to the global stage… especially here in Texas. I’ve known for helping and teaching my fellow artists how to create and gained a huge fun base in the state… (Adabu the best ent) always here to help upcoming artists. That’s why they even gave me a nickname (Mwalimu)is a Swahili word means teacher.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I thought about the question. All the mistakes I made were made for good reasons generally things outside of my control. If I did not make the other good things would have not happened or things could have been worse. So I guess I would say nothing, except maybe give myself a heads up that it’s going to be ok.
