

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam and Mackenzie Osborn.
Mackenzie, please share your story with us.
AHM Furniture Service was established in December of 2012. At the time Adam was working for a local furniture store as their warehouse manager when the owner began to see his talents he made the decision to let him go so that he could peruse what he was destined for. At the time we had several large furniture retailers calling for him to service their customers’ furniture repairs. One of those accounts was Gallery Furniture. It was the perfect timing for him to start his journey as a self-employed furniture technician.
Our company name has significant meaning to us both, when we began to think about what our company would look like we wanted the focus to be a family operated business. AHM stands for Adam, Harper (our daughter we were expecting at the time) Mackenzie. It is where our operation started and since grown into an established business.
Once our beautiful daughter was born it was at that time that we could see the vision of AHM and where we wanted to be. It was then that we decided that we would need each other’s talents, dedication to success and support to build a business that we would ultimately be proud of. From that point on I began the full time position of running the operations and building customer relations. It is undoubtedly that we are a great team. Adam is the visionary and face of the company while I use my organizational skills in the daily operations and time to build lasting relationships with each of our customers big or small.
Over the next year God began to open doors that we never expected. We began servicing accounts such as Star Furniture and several Ashley Homestores. We now have a long list of retailers and manufacturers that stand behind our work. During this journey of growth God placed the perfect people in our path to join our team and most importantly our family.
We have significantly grown over the last 5 years and have start new endeavors in the furniture restoration world. Our initial focus was warranty repairs through furniture stores and while that is still a predominant part of our company today we have expanded into the restaurant/hotel industry, working alongside moving companies as well as working directly with customers in need of minor furniture repairs, refinishing and complete re-upholstery.
God has truly blessed and guided our business into new markets and we feel honored to be able to serve fellow Houstonians. After hurricane Harvey we found the need in our community for flood restoration, since then we have been assisting many families and businesses rebuild and restore their furniture to like new condition.
We are excited to continue to service furniture retailers, fellow businesses and customers while providing excellent customer service and demonstrating our unique craftsmanship. 1Peter 4:10 states to use the talents that we have been given to serve others and it is our hope to be able to do that with each customer that we have the opportunity to service.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a business owner has it highs and lows, growing a business and being able to find skilled craftsman has been a struggle as our standards and expectations are higher than others.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about AHM Furniture Service – what should we know?
AHM Furniture Service does not specialize in just one area of restoration we are uniquely designed to be able to service many repairs for our customers.
Our Shop: We have a re-upholstery and refinishing shop where we can customize any piece of furniture. We offer fabric/leather and vinyl swatches for customers to use to complete their finished product.
In Home Service: We also offer in home repairs for the convenience of our customer. The in home service allows our certified technicians to be able to repair minor wood, upholstery or mechanical furniture all while in your home.
Moving Companies: We work alongside moving companies to assist with property damages that were caused during transit as well as all of the items damaged during transportation. This allows AHM to repair many items not necessarily furniture.
Restaurants: We are cable of reupholstering booths for restaurants as well as reinforcing chairs and tables.
Hotels: We are able to repair minor or major flaws in the furniture in the waiting areas of hotels as well as the rooms where over time the furniture begins to show its wear and tear.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
We are dedicated to two qualities that drive our success, one is our unique craftsmanship and the ability to service 95% of the items brought to AHM. The other quality is our dedication to providing excellent customer service. We feel that both of these are equally important for the growth of the company.
