Today we’d like to introduce you to Ajay Bhagchandani.
Hi Ajay, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Ajay Bhagchandani; I am an Actor, Director, Designer, & Photographer. But at the end of the day, I am an artist. I do everything and anything that is visual creation. Starting my art journey- I picked up a pencil and started drawing. With the visions/inspiration I was able to intake throughout the world and place onto paper, I realized it wasn’t fast enough and I started my affixation to cameras. Capturing that vision in an instant with digital cameras and now a week for film. I could share a piece of life or an experience to someone in a reasonable time and for exactly what it was. Long story short, I specialize in spreading visions and experiences of life. No matter what art form that may be. I’m most known for and most proud of my digital/physical designs and my cinematography. I believe heavily in the importance of community and spiritual growth. With that, almost all of my art is related cyclically to the earth and ourselves as life on earth. Physically, Mentally, & Spiritually.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s never always going to be a smooth ride. Has had its ups and downs but it’s all what’s made it the journey it’s been. Self-Worth and trust in your artwork is the biggest hurdle any artist will have to experience.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I started my journey throughout the arts by drawing anything I could at a young age and quickly moved into character design. With that, I would continuously be creating not only characters but the clothes they would wear. A character’s style, to me, shares a story of who they are and what experiences makeup them. I got into storytelling and directing films. Bringing my designer characters to life and being able to share that vision with someone else was a thrilling experience and one I continue to chase. Today, I direct films and design not only characters but clothes & various creative projects. I enjoy capturing moments of transition/change within my subjects and my composition.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
Going on road trips with my family. The idea of being able to experience and learn about a whole set of new environments & people immediately opens a journey for more inspirational moments. In both a creative sense and spiritually.
