Today we’d like to introduce you to Alberto Farias.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As I was young, I was always into barbering. A lot of barbershops play music in the backgrounds and give the shop a vibe. Had a couple jobs in high school but got laid off due to always being late so I knew working for someone wasn’t for me. Around 2013, I started cutting hair and had homies who were already doing music. Years pass by and it’s 2015…2016 and I’m into the music scene but not recording any music. By the end of 2016, I start deciding whether I want to do the music thing. 2017 hits then in February I record my first song called “Sippin While I’m Swervin”. During 2017, I start networking and realizing my barber skill can help me get what I need from the music industry. Now we’re here with Voyage Houston but it’s just the beginning!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’ve been finding myself throughout my life but so far so good just need to put more time into the studio and marketing even tho networking is key. It all about who you know in this game…
We’d love to hear more about your work.
Since I have a team behind me, I would like to say WE because we’re all in this together. I joined a group called GODBODY. The ones who started it I went to high school with. We’re all diverse artist with different personalities. My voice is the best part about my music to me so I can see that as a special trait. To be honest, I’m known for cutting right now but they know my voice, haha And I’m proud for an event we’re throwing Feb 23rd. Hoping to pack it up and have a good time. We’ll try to make it a yearly thing.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was always into sports, shoes, and clothes. Baseball is one of my favorite sports to play but not watch haha I was kinda shy around people but once I got to know you, I wouldn’t be. For personality idk… I feel like I’m a young fly individual so everything I say and do is natural just like with the music or cutting. It’s all about confidence. But as a person of interest, I look at loyalty and respect. If everything is genuine, everything will run smooth.
