Hi Alex, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Croissants Wholesale was founded over 22 years ago by my father, Alberto Londono, and his business partner, Ramon Alvarado. What began as a humble operation—cutting croissants by hand in a small facility—has evolved into one of the largest croissant production companies in Texas, now producing over 30,000 croissants daily.
The roots of our company trace back to a powerful story of immigration and opportunity. Both of our families arrived in the United States in pursuit of the American dream. My father, Alberto, spent over 20 years working under French bakers, learning the craft and discipline of traditional pastry making. That experience laid the foundation for launching his own venture, which would ultimately become Croissants Wholesale.
Today, the second generation has taken the reins. Myself (Alex Londono) and Ramon Alvarado’s son are proud to carry on our families’ legacy. Together, we continue to grow the business, now serving the majority of the Texas region as well as expanding into parts of Louisiana.
Croissants Wholesale remains committed to quality, consistency, and the entrepreneurial spirit that started it all.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing about building and running your own business is easy — so a smooth road? Absolutely not. But that’s the reality of anything that’s truly gratifying and fulfilling: it’s supposed to be hard.
From managing employees, navigating through COVID, to scaling for expansion — every step has been a challenge. But each obstacle has also been an opportunity to grow, both personally and professionally.
It’s incredibly rewarding to look back and see how far we’ve come — not just in terms of production or reach, but in how we’ve evolved as a company through hardships. That journey, with all its highs and lows, is what makes this work meaningful.
