Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Nicole.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Alexis. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My name is Alexis Nicole and I am the creator of the YouTube channel & brand The Nurse Nook. I started sharing my journey through nursing school in 2016 as a way to reach out to others in my field and create a community of aspiring nurses. I was a huge YouTube advocate and once I ran out of nursing related videos to watch, I decided to create my own. I had no idea my channel would take off the way it did but I’m grateful that I’ve been able to connect with so many people that are experiencing the same hardships, rewards and goals of becoming a registered nurse.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road was never smooth. Some of the hardest parts about what I do is keeping up with relevant content and always staying motivating to create more. It doesn’t help that aside from all the positive feedback I receive, a lot of negative also comes with the title of being a YouTube/Instagram influencer. I never thought I would make it to this level so I was not prepared for some of the backlash I’ve received. Despite the occasional negativity, the outpour of support I receive surpasses the negativity 100 times over.
Please tell us about your practice.
What I am most proud of is creating a space specifically nursing focused where I can give honest advice and personal accounts of what the real life of nursing is like. Nursing isn’t always glamour and I love that people can come to my channel to get my honest opinion while still give advice and tips to succeed.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I wouldn’t say I’m lucky but I for sure am blessed for where I currently am in life right now. God paved such an exciting path for me and I’m grateful to be fulfilling my purpose daily.
