Independent filmmaker Alexis is a native of the U.S. and has worked for the past eight years as a filmmaker. Alexis’ work is always looking into reality, finding the light, addressing the themes of life around us, our human biological wants and needs, and the journeys that we endure concurring day to day life to fulfill them. “Co-Parenting with the Spurlings” is his first television series as an executive producer and show-runner.
His project “Co-Parenting with the Spurlings” (2016, 10 episode @ 30 minutes) – This reality series explores successful attorney and business man Dennis Spurlings’ home life as he is interacting with his ex-wife, Stephanie, and children after getting divorced. The series follows the family at their most vulnerable times, as they deal with post-divorce issues, family problems, raising the children apart from one of the audience glimpses into the loving and fascinating relationship between Dennis and Stephanie, who have both committed to raising their children as best they can despite being divorced.
As a person that has entered the film business later in life than most, he has excelled rapidly, through his creativity and hard work ethic. Alexis accredits his growth to his business savvy and his work principles. Prior to entering into the film business, Alexis Robbie was a business owner for twelve years. Starting his first business by the age of nineteen enabled him to understand having to incorporate a broad knowledge of the multiple aspects of running a business. He took these same values into the filmmaking business by working his way up through the trenches of laboring in an array of positions. This understanding of all departments within the film business has aided his transition into show-running and garnered him respect by his fellow filmmakers.
His earlier video projects include producing television commercials and managing his client’s visual presence from news appearances to social commentary. He entered the business in 2009 as a grip working for his now mentor, gaffer and director of photography, Hassan Naiji, of Naiji Films. While working as a grip he was educated in the art of light design and quickly became fascinated with how lighting can change a viewer’s mood. After learning the art of lighting Alexis Robbie transitioned into becoming a director of photography. He subsequently was the director of photography on two independent films which where both nominated for multiple awards including best cinematography. At that point Alexis crossed paths with director Mr. Boomtown, who is famously known for his directorial visionary work in music videos. Boomtown brought Alexis onto his team as his director of photography in 2013. A few years later Alexis yearned to get to get into the production side of the film business and was brought on by his newly found clients to start producing television commercials. In the fall of 2015 Alexis Robbie was hired to head a new start-up entertainment company, Esquire Entertainment LLC., and start producing television shows. At this point He started writing and producing the new up and coming show, “Co-Parenting with the Spurlings,” that would be his entry into the reality television show business.
Alexis is hard working, creative and motivates his crew and himself to perform at their best. Regardless of the budget or the project, he gives his all and has delivered time after time again. He is positioning himself to be one of the future notable visionaries within his field of reality television genres and television commercials.
