Meet Allan Panzer of Houston Dry Eye Clilnic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allan Panzer.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I graduated from Optometry school in 1979 at the age of 23. I was at the time the youngest to graduate from my class and possibly from many other years. Upon graduation, I opened my own office in a medical building in Westbury. I practiced there for six years and moved to another building in Westbury for an additional seven years. I had been watching a location in Meyerland Annex for two years when it became available. I have been in this location for twenty-five years.

The floods in Meyerland have been difficult. The first flood in 2015 put water in my office but it was minimal. The flood of 2017 was much more significant. We sustained twenty-eight inches of water and for the most part, destroyed my office. Although my landlord worked diligently, I was closed for over two months.

Today the area is still devastated. Many of my patients have moved or are living elsewhere. Business is returning and I am just hopeful there will not be additional flooding in the future.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Houston Dry Eye Clilnic – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I have been in practice for a total of 39 years. I am quite proud of my reputation as a neighborhood practice with the technology and expertise of a medical center practice.

Although I refer to my office as the Houston Dry Eye Clinic, I really have many areas of interest.

My greatest accomplishment is in caring for patients who have severely compromised vision from earlier refractive surgery. These patients feel they have been abandoned by the surgeon who operated on them and now offers no opportunity for improved vision.

I also enjoy assisting those who have found no help dealing with their dry eyes. Many do not truly have dry eye but some form of pain that they refer to the as dry eye. I find it very rewarding to assist all patients who feel they have tried everything.

Finally, I truly enjoy assisting those with reading difficulties that can be helped with special eyeglass lenses that no one has ever mentioned.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans are to work as long as I possibly can. My occupation is also in some fashion my hobby. You can find me at my office seven days a week and into the late hours of the night.

I do not have evening or weekend hours, but I am here a great deal of the time. Doing what I enjoy… improving the workings of my office.
