Today we’d like to introduce you to Allen Dorsett.
Allen, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been a doctor for many years and started down this journey because I wanted to help people. When I was a child I fell out of a tree in my backyard. A nice older gentleman down the street was a doctor who just so happened to see my accident. He assisted me, taught me about medicine and started me on my path to who I am today.
I chose the field of pain management because I see so much pain in the world today. I have dedicated my life to doing what little I can to alleviate the pain in others.
Has it been a smooth road?
The path of being a doctor is long and difficult, but what sustained me on my voyage was the knowledge that someday I would be able to do my part in alleviating the suffering that exists in this world.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Advocate Pain Management Center story. Tell us more about the business.
At my company, Advocate Pain Management Center, we offer individualized treatment focused on optimal pain relief without surgery. Our mission is to improve your quality of life by finding the source of your pain and treating it interventionally. I use a variety of options including interventional procedures, physical therapy, neurostimulation, behavior modification and prescriptive pain relief.
I am most proud of the individualized care I take with each patient in devising a personalized treatment plan that focuses on their particular ailment. We have the latest technology to assist us in restoring your functionality.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The field of medicine is constantly changing as technological improvements allow us to serve our patient population better. Staying up to date on the latest advances is paramount for providing the highest quality of care while not losing that personal and individualized relationship between a doctor and patient. After about 10 years though, I am sure we will all be replaced by robots.
