Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Foster.
Allison, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was always taught to go to school get a degree or two, then obtain a career job. From 2002-2008 I did just that. I obtained a Bachelor of Business Management and a Masters in Criminal Justice from Grambling State University. I worked for the state of Texas for almost five years and I just couldn’t imagine working there for the next 15-20 years.
In 2012, I became a single mother working three part-time jobs just make in ends meet. It definitely took my village to help raise my kids and I truly thank my family for that. During that time, I started watching YouTube tutorials about makeup. Some of my favorite YouTubers are Jackie Ania, MakeupShayla, MakeupwithJah, Mrs. RoshPosh, and SonjdraDeluxe. In 2013, I enrolled in Modern Makeup Society. I learned a lot from the owner Mya James. I still had a lot of room for growth as an MUA. I started my cosmetic career as a freelancer for Mac, but shortly after I moved on to becoming a makeup artist at Sephora. I excelled to cosmetic management while working for various Estee Lauder and L’Oréal brands.
Diamond Vanitee Makeup evolved in 2013 as my freelance makeup business. This allowed me to network with a lot of great entrepreneurs and brands. In 2016, I decided to start my own YouTube channel and cosmetic line. Honestly, at first I wasn’t consistent as I should have been but it slowly all came together. With the help of my business partner we developed a great brand. “Our mission is to promote and embrace real beauty through individuality and positive energy. Real beauty and positive energy start from the soul. Individuality is our uniqueness, our ability to achieve different levels of greatness, and our various channels of creativity”. My cosmetic line launched December 31, 2019. Any and everything went wrong. I had no shirts, no business cards, and no product labels.
All the vendors I worked with did not deliver. I still decided to launch anyway. I was so taken back by the amount of orders I received on the first day. The support I got was unreal. I will tell anybody when you are planning to be become an entrepreneur move in silence and remove all negative people and spirits from your life. Your most powerful business plan is the one you create with god first. My journey in opening this cosmetic line has been a true testimony but I wouldn’t change any obstacles or struggles I went through. All of it helped me become a better business owner and a better me.
Has it been a smooth road?
No business is a smooth road. If it was I don’t think I would cherish it as much. There were many struggles along the way from branding ideas, finding investors, selecting what products to launch, and even creating the companies own individuality to set apart from other brands.

We are a cosmetic company that specializes in handmade products with organic and Vegan ingredients. We sell lip gloss, lip scrubs, body scrubs, and eye glitters. One thing that I’m most proud of as a company we have overly talented and prestigious clientele. Some the most elite makeup artist in Houston, executive level managers and other entrepreneurs shop with us. One thing that sets us apart from other companies is we promote quality over quantity any day. We rather hand-make small batches rather than mass produce. This way our customers receive fresh and quality products.

What we least like is the traffic but hey everybody hates the traffic lol…
