Today we’d like to introduce you to Alvando Ray and Jean H. Darden.
Alvando and Jean, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I began ordering tax publications as an older teen/young adult. I wanted to do taxes in the future, but the urban city life that I was living at the time made me feel that people wouldn’t take me seriously. Years later, when I decided to really get myself together I took a class or two. Still, I was undecided about my career choice.
My ex-wife (was married then) influenced me to pursue the tax craft. I did, soon we were building our own business.
Many challenges surfaced and unfortunately, we divorced. My mother stepped in and began to carry a great weight. Ray’z Tax Service is still thriving hard and making our clients proud.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Internal disagreements in the marriage and management. Lack of being stable at a preferred location.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Ray’z Tax Service story. Tell us more about the business.
Year-round service. Warm family atmosphere. Even with the split and separation in the business, it is thriving evermore today by the grace of GOD.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
It was and is a GOD thing. Luck had nothing to do with it.
