Today we’d like to introduce you to Alvin Gee.
Alvin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Had an interest in Photography in High School yearbook in 1973. Continued photography interest in college. Have a degree in Radio TV at University of Houston in 1977. Worked for two photography studios and started my studio in 1979. Photographed 1000 weddings for 25 years, presently located in Citycentre in a beautiful 5000 square feet studio. Specializing in Family portraits and Commercial business portraits.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Many learning experiences because of struggles and failures.
Alvin Gee Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I photograph people in the studio and on location. I am known for making the portrait experience a pleasant one and working quickly and getting the job done right. I have consistently created portraits of fine families for 37 years. I have won the BBB award of Excellence in 2000, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017. BBB Pinnacle Winner 2013, 2016. I earned the PPA Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsmen degree from the Professional Photographers of America. I am a Certified Professional Photographer from the PPA since 1987.
Inducted into the Cameracraftsmen of America in 1992. (Membership limited to 40 of the best Photographers in the world). I have been tested for 37 years and continue to do my best work.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I photographed Senator Ted Cruz’s promotional portrait when he was running for Congress.
