Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Marin.
Ana, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It all started from my mom’s previous experience at a dog grooming spa. Her previous employer had a receptionist opening and luckily I was available. I started right away along with a close family friend, Lucy.
At that point, we fell in love with the grooming process. We’ve always been animal lovers and currently have 2 Standard Poodles, a 1.5 lbs. Micro Yorkie girl and an American Bully.
My mom and Lucy have always had a vision of opening a business together. A few years went by and we were ready to start a business. We kept looking at possible places to start a Dog Spa from scratch or an already running spa for sale. Well, we found Pooch “n” Pups Grooming!
Pooch “n” Pups was the new kid on the block! It had barely opened a month prior to our takeover. We are focused on creating a fantastic experience for our clients and their furry kids.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As every new adventure, there are bumpy roads. We have a wonderful support system and very reliable staff. Our staff members are pooch parents and lovers and also have plenty of years of experience, which is always a plus. There are days where we have a difficult pup, but that won’t stop us from performing our best. We always keep our motto in mind; “Where Grooming begins with Love.”
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Pooch “n” Pups Grooming – what should we know?
Pooch “n” Pups is a Dog and Cat Grooming Spa. Our services include baths, maintenance, full body grooms, boarding, daycare, nail clipping and filing, teeth brushing, deshedding, dematting and detangling, flea and tick removal. Pooch Bakery is our newest addition to our retail product line; made with organic and human grade ingredients.
We specialize in pet grooming which establishes an emotional and personal connection with each pet. We are known for providing tender and loving care to each furry baby. Some pets have encountered previous traumatic experiences throughout their lives. We want all pooch parents to know we will take the time needed in each situation.
As a company, we are proud to provide our clients the peace of mind when leaving their pets under our care. We are here to provide our love and dedication to all our customers.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Our success is having returning customers willing to drive 25 plus minutes to come to Pooch “n” Pups. Some of our clients come from Houston, Fulshear, Cypress, Richmond and beyond. We appreciate feedback and compliments about our services. Our best reaction is seeing tails wag!
