Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Sanchez.
Ana, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Since I was younger, I knew that I wanted to own a business, but I just didn’t know what industry I’d be in. I’ve always loved anything that was involved with beauty and fashion, but it never hit me that you could make a business out of it. It wasn’t until about four or five years ago; I looked into this new trend that can enhance your beauty known as “Eyelash extensions.” So, I decided to give it a chance, and I must say, I was completely in love with the result! I couldn’t believe how this stylist was so successful with just doing eyelash extensions. That’s when I decided to go to cosmetology school and received my license. Since in the state of Texas, you MUST have a license in order to perform that service. After receiving my license, I was still working at a company full-time, that I was very thankful for having, but unfortunately was not happy with. I knew I wanted to pursue my dream of owning a business, but I’d have to find a way to do it where it wouldn’t affect my position at the time. I made the decision to start offering eyelash extensions after work. I would start at 5 pm, and I sometimes wouldn’t finish until midnight! It got to a point, where I was booked a week in advance and was financially making more than my full-time job.
After talking with my fiancé about possibly quitting my job, and opening my own studio and having his full support, I quit my job. It was one of the scariest, yet thrilling feeling I’ve ever experienced. I started off small, worked my way to where I consistently have customers and have outgrown my business, which is now time to move on to the next step! I honestly can’t express how thankful I am of my clients! They’ve supported me and encouraged me to become better. I love what I do! Eyelash extensions can really make a woman feel empowered and bring their confidence up. The beauty industry is my calling.
Has it been a smooth road?
In my opinion, it was definitely challenging, but not to a point where I felt like giving up. I had more doubts or questions about something that hadn’t happen yet. Like, “What if I fail?” Yes, you must think of everything, but you have to have an optimistic mind. You should always find ways to overcome situations. It helps one’s character. If I find myself in a hole, I have the best support (My family, fiancee, friends, and clients), and they manage to lift me up. I keep pushing when things get a little difficult.
Let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Ravishing Lash Studio story. Tell us more about the business.
At Ravishing Lash Studio, I specialize in eyelash extensions. I’m known for offering my clients a customizable look that best fits them. Everyone is different! Some people want different looks, but we have to take their natural lashes and features into consideration. It’s not just about putting an eyelash extension on each natural lash, and bam–That’s it! No, it’s artistry. I am very proud of that! And also offering them the best customer service. It isn’t about making a quick dollar, and have them walk out of my studio. I like to make my clients feel like they’ve earned a friend, “therapist” (Yes, I’ve been called that A LOT), or family. Someone that wants to get to know them. They’re my clients, not my customers.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
This industry is booming! I see a lot of girls going into the beauty industry. Either doing eyelashes, eyebrows, waxing, hair, etc. It may get a little competitive, but if one stays consistent and keep perfecting their craft, then that’s what will make them stand out. I definitely don’t see any changes when it comes to that.

- Hybrid Full Set (It’s a perfect mixture of Classic, and volume. This service will make your lashes look a bit fuller) $150
- Volume Full Set (Two to Eight very light weight extensions that’s shaped like a ‘V’ is placed on one natural lash. Perfect for clients that don’t have many eyelash extensions, or want that dense look.) $190
- Lash Lift (Some clients have natural long lashes or don’t want to get eyelash extensions. Then this is the perfect service. Also, you can do a tint if they have blonde eyelashes.) $75/$90 W/Tint
