Andre, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My family and I opened C2 Education as a family business (Mother, Father, Brother, Me) and help make it successful day by day. Because of my dyslexia and ADHD I struggled during my student years; as a result my family and I know firsthand how important it is for students to have a helping hand. So we decided to team up as a family and open up C2 Education.
We now tutor and counsel K-12 student from all walks of life to achieve their goals; weather it is improving grades or getting into their university of choice, we can help by providing tutoring, test prep, and counseling from Kindergarten to High School.

Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing is easy, you have to work hard for it! We spent all our savings establishing C2 Education but it has been very rewarding for us. C2 Education is a franchise that we carefully selected to provide the best possible service to our students.
Our first challenge was selecting a Franchise that will speak to us in terms of flexibility, variety and student personal attention. Once we had the concept selected we moved pretty fast.
At the beginning we struggled with getting our hands around the day-to-day but now that we are fully operational we couldn’t be happier. We get to make a difference in people’s lives for the better. And that to us is the ultimate reward.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the C2 Education of Katy story. Tell us more about the business.
C2 Education began as a private tutoring program run out of a Harvard University dorm room. Since then, they’ve grown to include more than 180 centers nationwide, serving more than 10,000 students and their families each week. They are the nation’s fastest-growing network of personal tutoring and SAT, PSAT, ACT and AP Exam preparation centers.
We run the Katy Franchise and we picked C2 Education because of their individualized approach and flexibility. There’s a lot of tutoring franchises out there but most of them sell a specific study method, focus a particular area of study or do not pay enough attention to the student.
C2 offers a fully customized curricula, so our program is different for each student. We begin the process with an assessment that reveals each student’s strengths and weaknesses and tailor lessons accordingly.
There’s nothing one-size-fits-all about us. Our expertise, personalized curricula and college counseling resources set us apart. Most other services offer two-day classes; ours is much more comprehensive. We prepare students more effectively than other programs.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Education is going digital; lessons and textbooks in schools are mostly e-books and non-physical formats. We will see this trend continuing to grow and it will come with more collaboration between the students’ school and tutoring companies.
In the future we will be able to check on students’ progress in real time, our tutors will know which areas to focus in advance and prepare more effectively as we continue to use technology to improve our service to better serve our students.
