Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Couvertier.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Andrea. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always had a love for weddings. When I was younger, I would save my allowance just to buy bridal magazines, so I could look at the wedding dresses. In addition to weddings, I also had a passion for planning so my parents would let me plan my younger brothers birthday parties, graduation parties and any other family events that needed planning.
While attending the University of Houston, I had the opportunity to plan my first wedding. The budget was very small but the wedding was beautiful and not at all reflective of the budget. In addition to planning, I also personally did the floral design, decor, and stationery. I received such good feedback it motivated me to start my own event planning company. In November 2007, Breathtaking Events was formed.
After the formation of my company, I knew that I wanted to be among the best in the industry. So, I attended floral design school, I became certified in wedding planning and I also attended several classes and workshops within the wedding industry to hone my craft. I made some major adjustments to pursue my passion and I haven’t looked back since.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There is nothing smooth about entrepreneurship. Though it has been very rewarding to see my vision come to fruition, it has not come without challenges. For me personally, one of the major struggles that I had in the beginning (not anymore) is that I literally wanted to help everyone plan their weddings or events. I had to learn the hard way that everyone is not my client. I quickly learned to select my client instead of allowing my clients to select me.

Breathtaking Events is a boutique event planning and design company based in Houston, Texas. While most of our weddings and events take place in the Houston area, we have also had the pleasure of planning weddings in destinations throughout the country.
Breathtaking Events is known for an intimate detailed approach to planning and for its exquisite floral design. We take pride in making the entire planning and design process as seamless as possible for our clients. Our goals are to take our clients visions and bring them to fruition while making sure that each wedding is a customized true reflection of the couple. From intricate design details to the overall big-picture logistics, we use our expertise to ensure that all events are timeless and simply breathtaking.

Throughout the years, I have had the best support system. My parents have cheered me on since day one. They have always encouraged me to follow my dreams and do not submit to the opinions of others. My husband is my biggest supporter, though he has his own business he is always there to support and encourage me when needed. I also have an awesome team that assists me in bringing all of my events together.
