Andrew, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Somewhere around 2009 with over 25 years’ experience in the rope, cordage and twine industry working for my dad, I saw a need for a new and exciting hand woven rope doormat to enhance the beauty of people’s homes and businesses that wasn’t like all the other rope doormats. With the help of my Dad who spent his entire life in the textile industry from Making Lace to building one of the largest rope companies in the USA. I started Texas/ Rockport Door mats. In 2017 I created Rockport Rope Door Mats LLC for obvious reasons. Rockport is a beautiful ocean side town in TX, ME AND MA which are all beautiful just like our mats. At Rockport Doormats all the braiding and weaving are entirely produced by thoughtful, creative, artisans certified in the art of mat weaving in Houston TX. We design, manufacture and ship all of our own rope mats so we can maintain very high quality standards and keep our cost low passing on the savings to you. We add colors and designs as the market demands. We have expanded our line from just our website to several of the largest retail websites in the world. We also sell to retailers all over the country including but not limited to RV dealers, gift shops, boat dealers, hardware stores, distributors, and accessory companies. We are always looking for new outlets to sell our products
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The hardest part of this business has been and still is finding a balance for year round business. Growing the company only as fast as we can maintain the quality and personal attention required for such a fine product.

We then weave the rope into rope doormats. These hand woven rope door mats lie flat and have a very elegant look to them. No matter which hand woven rope doormat you choose you will find they work well keeping the dirt out of your home and making that statement you are looking for. They complete the look of any home inside or out.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My definition of success is having a company that is profitable, takes care of the people that make it all possible which are the people that work there and the customers that purchase the products. My entire team has a lot of input into making a better product and ways to better serve our customers. The customers also have input into ways to make a better product and better serve their needs. We have continually improved our product and our service since we started and will continue to do so as we adapt to changing times. It has to be good for everyone or it isn’t good for anyone.
