Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Reyes.
Hi Angel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up in Puerto Rico, and in the 1970s I moved to Kansas City. That shift, between cultures, languages, and communities, ended up shaping a lot of who I am. Even after moving, Puerto Rico never stopped feeling like home. Every summer I went back and worked construction. It was hard, honest work, and it kept me grounded in where I came from. Just as importantly, it kept my Spanish strong and my connection to the people and stories that raised me.
Living in both worlds gave me a front-row seat to what happens when someone doesn’t have a voice in the system, especially when language becomes a barrier. I saw how easily people who don’t speak English can be overlooked, misunderstood, or treated unfairly, not because they’re in the wrong, but because they can’t fully advocate for themselves. Over time, that awareness turned into a calling. I didn’t just want a career; I wanted to be someone who could stand up in court for people who might otherwise go unheard.
That purpose is what led me into law and ultimately into personal injury work. I’ve always believed that when someone is hurt, physically, financially, emotionally, they deserve more than paperwork and procedure. They deserve a real advocate. Today, as a partner at a personal injury firm, I still carry those early lessons with me: work hard, stay rooted, and never forget who you’re fighting for. My story is really a story of bridging two homes and letting that bridge become a way to serve others, especially those who need a voice the most.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Moving from Puerto Rico to the mainland meant adjusting to a new culture and, at times, having to prove myself in spaces where I didn’t always feel fully seen or understood. The legal path itself was demanding: long hours, high stakes, and a lot of pressure early on. And building trust and a reputation in this work takes time; you earn it case by case, client by client, with setbacks along the way. But those challenges strengthened my resolve and reminded me why I do this, to be a voice for people who need someone in their corner.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Angel Reyes & Associates is a Texas personal injury law firm built for one purpose: stepping in for people after a serious accident and fighting to get their lives back on track. We focus primarily on car and truck wrecks, everything from everyday collisions to catastrophic 18-wheeler and commercial vehicle cases, and we also handle major injury and wrongful death claims when the stakes are highest. With nearly a century of combined experience on our legal team, we’ve represented tens of thousands of Texans and built a track record of results that speaks for itself.
What sets us apart is the way we combine scale and firepower with real, personal care. We take a client-first approach from day one, listening closely, staying in frequent contact, and making sure people feel supported, not overwhelmed, by the legal process. At the same time, we’re relentless when it comes to outcome. We dig deep into every case, build it the right way, and push for the maximum compensation our clients deserve, especially when insurance companies try to minimize or dismiss what someone has been through.
Brand-wise, what we’re most proud of is our reputation for trust, accessibility, and results. We work on a “no fee unless we win” basis, offer free consultations, and make it simple for families to get strong legal help without added financial stress. We’re also proud to be a bilingual firm that can serve clients in both English and Spanish, because everyone deserves to be fully heard and represented.
What we want Houstonians to know is simple: when someone is injured, they shouldn’t have to take on powerful insurers or corporations alone. Our job is to shoulder that burden, protect their rights, and fight for the recovery that lets them move forward with dignity.
Any big plans?
Looking ahead, my focus is on continuing to serve injured Texans with the same energy and care that built this firm in the first place. I want to keep showing up for people on some of the hardest days of their lives, making sure they feel heard, protected, and fully represented.
I’m also excited about growing the firm in a thoughtful way: expanding our reach, strengthening our team, and investing in the tools and talent that let us fight even harder for clients. To me, expansion isn’t just about getting bigger; it’s about increasing the impact we can make and ensuring more families across Texas have access to strong, trustworthy advocacy.
Most of all, I’m looking forward to continuing to build something lasting: a firm that sets the standard for how personal injury law should be practiced, relentless in results, but always grounded in people.
Pricing:
- No Fee Unless We Win – We work on a contingency-fee basis, which means there are no fees unless we win. Clients don’t pay anything upfront, and they only owe attorney’s fees if we successfully recover compensation for them. That structure lets people get strong legal help without added financial stress, and it keeps our focus on maximizing their recovery.
