Meet Angela M Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela M Lewis.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My VicTory Creations was birthed out of a tragedy, as most great epics. The original designs are created from spoons that survived a tragic house fire resulting in the passing of my grandfather. I kept his flatware, unknown at the time that there was a greater calling for them. I wanted to do something special with them but did not know what until a friend and I was at Fort Worth for the mustang makeover. We were walking the vendor booths and spotted this unique jewelry booth. There were spoons with simple words pressed into them. The lady overheard my friend and I talking about my daughter and her struggles with Addison’s disease. She came over and handed me a spoon that read “hope.” At this point I Still was clueless about what to do with my grandpa’s flatware. It was several years later when I had a dream… literally about turning bible verses into scenes and using the spoons as a background. So here we are… Out of the ashes, these spoons have risen and turned into empowering and uplifting messages.

Please tell us about your art.
I make unique jewelry utilizing bible verses as scenes to uplift and empower! Each piece is created when ordered, prayed over to allow the design to flow and be exactly what it is meant to be. Each piece is one of a kind. I hope that my pieces can uplift someone when they need that extra strength, knowing that the creator of it has prayed over it and for them.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
In my opinion, the biggest challenge facing artists today is that there are so many amazing artists out there and their work is not seen. As a beginning artist, new to the industry, it’s challenging to be seen and get your pieces in front of people. I believe there are some really talented artists that are working diligently on their breakthrough! For those artists, keep moving forward, keep striving, your breakthrough is just over this mountain.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
You can find my work on my very outdated website… (soon to be revamped) at www.myvictorycreations.com or my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/myvictorycreationstx/
