Meet ANGELICA Robles

Today we’d like to introduce you to ANGELICA Robles.

ANGELICA Robles

Hi ANGELICA, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Cicero, an underserved Mexican community in Chicago, IL. I am the youngest of 4 siblings. My parents are Mexican immigrants that came to this country for a better life. I went to Morton East high school which at the time had the highest pregnancy rate in the country. Despite the violence in our neighborhood and school, I excelled and graduated high school with enough college credit to be a college sophomore. When I was a sophomore in high school my high school sweetheart’s sister was brutally murdered, dismembered and decapitated by the cartel. This was one of the most heinous crimes in Chicago history. She went on a first date and lost her life. The cartel was after him and took her out too. This completely shook me to the core. Because of this event I went into forensic psychology. I wanted to know why someone can do this to another innocent person, surely someone insane. I went to University of Illinois Champaign and graduated with a forensic psychology degree. When I turned 23, I went to work for the federal government as an undercover agent investigating corporate fraud. After two years of traveling non-stop and surviving undercover work as a Latina woman I was transferred to Houston. In Houston I began working human trafficking, terrorism, drug dealing and national security cases. I became one of the best interrogators. When I was 30, I married what I thought was the love of my life, we built a life, a home and made beautiful babies. During covid I was approached by Hasmark Publishing to write the story of my life. “Through These Brown Eyes” was born. My husband decided to read the manuscript before it went to publishing. He was triggered by all the trauma I spoke of in my book that it caused him to want to tell me his truth. He confessed his family had been part of the Mexican cartel. My life came crashing down. I felt like I had been hit by a train and I was still alive. I had to report it to Department of Defense since I was still working for the government. This then led to a 7-week investigation on me! DOD thought I was involved. I filed for divorce and left this man as quickly as I could. DOD told me if I wanted to continue my career, I would have to disassociate myself from him and divorce him. I divorced him but went forward publishing my book. My entire life was in shambles. I published the book, but I was blacklisted by DOD. My entire 10-year marriage and my 14-year career imploded. However, my book became an international best seller and my entire life changed. I started getting calls to get on stages all over the world to tell my story, started getting invited to several high-profile podcasts worldwide. A year later after publishing my book, I sold my story to Hollywood to be made into a featured film. I lost everything to gain a whole new life. A life that came with sharing my story and touching, moving and inspiring women all over the world. A true story of tragedy to resilience. I was then named executive producer of my own story, I had to go through the fire, be destroyed to be able to rebuild myself. Now I am a Forbes published motivational speaker, content creator, bestselling author, business strategist expert, executive producer, podcaster and mindset coach. My journey was not an easy one, but it was one that was worth it. I look back and realized I was always meant for more, and all I had to do was share my story. Now I get to inspire people all over the world that even in the lowest points of your life, something bigger than yourself is coming.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This by no means has been smooth. Nothing about my journey has been easy. Learning to let go of fear of judgement was the hardest part of learning to heal. I struggled so much in my entire life that I grew numb to the pain. I began to look at tragedy and trauma as normalcy. I learned to compartmentalize my life and keep going. Losing a career I had worked so hard was a loss that I was not prepared to endure. However, I was not aware that what was on the other side would be my true happiness. I choose my career based on pain and writing my book helped me heal. Everything I created after my book was built on my happiness. Detaching my mind, body and soul from a career I felt was my calling was a struggle. But once I was ripped apart from it, I began to evolve into my true self. A fully self-expressed, healed, powerful woman.
