Meet Anna-Alicia Jimenez of Juiced in Cypress

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna-Alicia Jimenez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Anna-Alicia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My story is one of those “everything happens for a reason” stories. One that I didn’t know I needed. I had just given birth to my second child when I received notice that my job was being eliminated and I would soon be laid off. Not knowing what I was going to do, I was secretly terrified of what to do next. Do I start a business or look for another job. I loved the industry I was in, being a Corporate Buyer was something I wanted to be for so long and it’s crazy how quickly things can change. Now having a small family of my own, decisions are much harder to make but I knew deep down inside starting a business was the better way to go. It would be a scary ride but one well worth it if it succeeded. After several months of brainstorming, I stumbled across a documentary about the benefits of juicing. Before the documentary was over, the lightbulb in my head went off and I knew that’s what I wanted to do.

In October 2018, I bought my very first juicer and went to work. I played with so many fruits and vegetables, tried recipes several different ways until I found the 6 I wanted to start with. With the help of my community, I held several rounds of taste tests to perfect my recipes. I wanted my juices to not only taste amazing but also pack a ton of benefits without having that “yuck” effect. After I felt I was set and ready to go, I applied to as many farmer’s markets and events that I came across. In April 2019, I started selling my juices at a variety of markets from Cypress to Katy to the Heights. In June 2019, I finally landed my permanent market at Tomball Farmers Market and have been a permanent vendor there ever since.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a relatively smooth road. I would say getting all the licenses and permits in order was the most confusing part (haha).

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Juiced – what should we know?
Juiced is an all-natural, cold-pressed juice company. I would have to say that I am most proud of how quickly we have grown and all the positive feedback that we receive. When a customer orders a cleanse or simply a few juices at a time and they come back to tell me how amazing they feel afterwards, it really brightens my day and makes me feel that I am making a positive difference in people’s lives. We are in the works of creating something truly amazing that will set us apart from other juice companies! The current state that we’re in has pushed us back a little but it’s also giving us more time to be prepared. We are working on a really cool idea but shhhh …. it’s a secret! What I can say is that we are working on retail space with a fun concept. I am also a photographer so I will be rolling out my photography as part of my concept.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My family deserves all the credit in the world! They have stood behind me from the very beginning, encouraged me when I felt it was too much to handle. My mom is my number one cheerleader, my taste tester. She pushes me to do more, to not be afraid to take risks and the first person I go to with new ideas or even if I just need to vent. LoL.
