Meet ANNE DE LA PARRA of The Core Lab Pilates

Today we’d like to introduce you to ANNE DE LA PARRA.

Hi ANNE, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Mexico City and grew up in a very active, sport-driven family. Movement, discipline, and exercise have always been part of my life. I began practicing Pilates at the age of 13 as a complement to horseback riding, and over time it became an essential part of my training as I moved into competitive triathlon.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Fashion Design, and from a young age I have always been passionate about building businesses. I’ve always loved entrepreneurship—creating, selling, and bringing ideas to life has been part of who I am for as long as I can remember.

At 25, I moved to the United States with my husband. One of the first things I did was find a Pilates studio, where I auditioned, began teaching, and completed my certification. Alongside my career as a triathlete, I worked in several Pilates studios and taught a variety of methods, gaining broad experience and perspective.

After the birth of my second child, my family and I relocated from Houston to The Woodlands. It was there that I opened my first studio and created The Core Method—a results-driven approach rooted in Pilates and influenced by other training methods I found to be the most effective.

I am now a mother of four children under the age of four, balancing entrepreneurship, Pilates, and triathlon training. Movement and creation have always been at the center of my life, and my mission is to help others build strength, confidence, and connection through intentional, intelligent movement

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of my biggest challenges as an entrepreneur has been building and maintaining a strong, aligned team. When you are deeply invested in your vision, it can be difficult to find people who share the same level of commitment and values. Along the way, I’ve learned some hard lessons about trust and leadership, which have shaped how I build teams today. Those experiences taught me the importance of clear communication, boundaries, and surrounding myself with people who truly align with the mission.

Another ongoing challenge has been finding balance between my work, my family, and my home life. As a mother and business owner, being fully present in both worlds requires constant adjustment. Learning how to focus 100% on my business when I’m working, while also protecting quality time with my family, has been one of my greatest personal and professional growth areas.

Ultimately, these challenges have strengthened me as a leader. They’ve helped me become more intentional about the people I work with, the culture I build, and the systems I put in place so I can grow sustainably—both as an entrepreneur and as a person.

We’ve been impressed with The Core Lab Pilates, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Core Lab is much more than a fitness studio—it is a community. From the very beginning, I created it as a space where people feel supported, challenged, and truly seen. It was born from what I am most passionate about, what I do best, and what I deeply believe in: intelligent movement that transforms both the body and the mind.

The Core Method is a high-intensity, low-impact workout designed for everyone, regardless of age, background, or fitness level. It is rooted in Pilates but elevated with elements from other highly effective training methods. The goal is strength, longevity, and real results—without unnecessary impact on the body. I truly believe it is one of the most effective methods in the world because it is adaptable, intentional, and sustainable.

What makes The Core Lab truly special is the community we’ve built. Our clients don’t just come to work out—they come to connect, to grow, and to feel empowered. Over the years, I’ve seen people gain confidence, heal their relationship with movement, recover from injuries, and completely transform their lives. Being part of that journey is the most rewarding part of what I do.

The Core Lab reflects who I am as a founder, an athlete, and a woman. It is driven by passion, purpose, and a genuine desire to help others feel strong from the inside out. Every class, every instructor, and every client contributes to the energy that makes this place so special—and that is what continues to inspire me every single day.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Don’t start a business without experience in the field you’re building it in. Work in it first. Learn how things truly operate behind the scenes. Passion matters, but experience is what makes the difference between an idea and a successful, sustainable business.
