Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Garcia.
Anthony, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Last year around the month of June, I really turned my life a complete 360. – I started getting involved in the CHH (Christian Hip-Pop) community, simply just recording in my room with a microphone my parent’s bought me with a lot of love. I’ve always had a passion for music from dancing to rapping, but with the help of God, I started making moves. – I hit up my bro E-lokz (Eric Martinez) and keep in mind I was 16-year-old not everyone opens up doors, but God had another purpose! From my first single – What I can’t do!, to Fameless feat. E-lokz, all the way to my first EP project called “Rebel Against Society”. Dropping August 3rd! It’s been a journey!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being honest… It hasn’t, before turning my 360 I was struggling with deep depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts! As a teenager still in high school, I was bullied a lot and had let everything bring me down for a season! But thank you Lord I really turned my life around, and I’m using my testimony to help teenagers that are struggling with the same issues! Also, my parents are hard workers and have sacrificed a lot to help this journey become true! With the help of God, we’ve been able to.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the L E G E N D Productions story. Tell us more about the business.
L E G E N D productions started by making music in my room to selling quality music on Itunes, Google Play, etc.
For streaming apps like Spotify and Apple Music. More than a company is a ministry, where we represent our faith through recording music at Christ flow Music with DJOVERFLOW (Jesse Hernandez).
What sets us apart from the rest is #1 I’m only 17, #2 We have a mission to reach the youth by showing them they can be “Rebels” with a purpose! Also that we can break the rules while making Christ famous!
What were you like growing up?
I grew up in Houston, Texas around the Chimney Rock area. While growing up, I saw a lot at home! My dad was an ex-alcoholic, parents almost split (they even took a break for a while, it was really hard to see only being around 6-7 years old) Job loss, etc. I was a kid who was mostly very active, and very hungry!
But I never was crazy enough to do drugs, definitely not alcohol! I was really “wise” not to hang around the wrong crowd! Wrong! I did and it’s mainly why I started getting bullied, depressed and things like that! As I’ve grown up I learned to mature more, spiritually, mentally and physically! Learned to take advice from my pastors Octavio and Griselda Machuca. Also deep advice from my parents and DJOVERFLOW (Jesse Hernandez).
