Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Hills.
Anthony, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in Alief, TX and attended Youens Elementary, Alief Middle School and The Mighty Elsik Ram High school. I always had a dream to help others and to be an inspiration to the younger kids and my peers that looked up to me. If I could make you smile in the midst of hard times, that was always my mission. Growing up in Alief, we say a lot of violence and I have lost many friends growing up but I was raised in the fire and I would never change that experience for anything. Alief gave me grit, fight, perseverance, relationships (many I still cherish until this day). It was where I made up my mind that I would make it playing professional ball. That high school football field was my sanctuary. No matter what was going on around us, I could always go and work towards my dream. I graduated in May of 2003 and attended THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS in the spring of 2004. Won some trophies and met the love of my life Mrs. Brittany Hills.
In the spring of 2008, I was drafted in the 4th round (130) by the Pittsburgh Steelers, where I would go on to win Super Bowl XLIII. After spending ten years there, I retired in 2017 and in the fall of 2019, I opened my business S.T.A.T.T. Financial Services. Since then, we’ve helped people elevate their credit, protect their assets, manage their finances as well as start their own businesses! We are proud to be adding the life insurance component to our platform the summer of 2020. All in all, I have to thank God, my Wife, my mother (Mary Lemons) my brothers (Michael Hills Jr. Brandon James and Jeremy Hills) for their love support and guidance throughout this journey. We have miles to go before we sleep and miles to go before we sleep but we will get there Lords Will!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The struggles are like many other people’s struggles in the black and brown community. Financially we got by but there was gang violence all around us. Growing up without a father was hard because a lot of responsibility fell on me to make sure things ran smoothly at the house. However, I always believed that through tribulations the greatest experiences come out it.
S.T.A.T.T. Financial Services – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
S.T.A.T.T Financial Services was established in October of 2019. Since its establishment, we acquired two major partnerships with Financial Education Services and United Credit Education Services. By utilizing these platforms, S.T.A.T.T. Financial has been able to provide financial education, credit elevation, and asset protection to Houston, Austin, Dallas and the San Antonio area. As well as different cities all over the country. Our platform is committed to meeting the needs of the 70 million Americans that have a less than perfect credit score as well as provide income opportunities to the 80 percent of Americans who live paycheck to paycheck. Our team has covered the spectrum for the different pieces of the financial puzzle by creating a variety of easy to use programs coupled with the utmost level of customer support.
With the inclusion of educational resources, we are committed to helping you meet your financial goals while also providing you with the tools you will need to establish long term success. We also are adding life insurance onto our platform. So now we will be able to help families have a peace of mind when it comes to those hard times in life. At S.T.A.T.T., we are built on three core values Integrity, Service, Passion. We are most proud of the fact that we have helped people change their financial trajectory as well as give them information to empower those that felt powerless.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Being able to help a young woman who was homeless and now she and her boys have their own place, car and she has a new work opportunity!!
