Meet Apostle Charles E. Perry Jr. of Word of Restoration International Church in Southwest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Apostle Charles E. Perry, Jr.

Apostle Charles, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
From a child, I always believed I would pastor. I started a church in 1990, but due to a lack of growth and ineffectiveness, I discontinued it in 1996. I then became a part of another ministry and served faithfully for five years. After that period, the Spirit of God prompted me to begin Word of Restoration. Unfortunately, prior to starting, I experienced extreme rejection, pain, shame, hopelessness and despair, for which I came to the point of wanting to end my life. At the very moment of placing a firearm against my temple, I had a visitation from God that filled the room and overshadowed my decision. From that encounter, I determined to believe God and live again! With a life-restoring Word from God and a clear vision, I walked away from that moment of fear, trusting God for total and complete restoration.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Has it been a smooth road? No! However, faith in God has gotten us through.

What were some of the struggles along the way? Marital and financial, however, the biggest one has been the moment of suicide.

Please tell us about Word of Restoration International Church.
It is a church, named Word of Restoration International Church. It is a church of Kingdom-minded believers who live by the principles of God first, along with His righteousness, and all things shall be added. The church was organized in February, 2001 with a core group consisting of 13 people gathered at the Mustang Community Center in Fresno, Texas. However, on Sunday, March 4, 2001, the church held its first worship service at Luella Belle Goodman Elementary. Over 200 came together and the ministry has never experienced less than that number. Glory to God!

The church remained at the elementary school for six months and in September, 2001, we secured a 10,000 square-foot lease facility which housed the sanctuary, Radical Praise House Children’s Church, Chosen Generation Nursery and a few administrative offices. The church was there until we built its current worship facility at the City of Restoration. While there, in 2005, the church purchased 44 acres where the City of Restoration is currently being built. In the year 2007, we began the first big building project and in April, 2009, the first worship service at the City of Restoration was held.

By the year 2012, the City of Restoration was a fully-functioning campus, housing “The Zone” facility for teens, “The Intersection” facility for elementary and middle school students, “Kidz Kingdom” nursery for infants and toddlers, administrative offices, an on-site guest suite in addition to the existing worship facility, and Restoration City Life Center currently under construction, all totaling 100,000 square feet. Hundreds of families acknowledge membership and connection to Word of Restoration.

What do you do? I am the Founder and Senior Pastor of a local church in Rosharon, Texas. President of Charles Perry Ministries and an affirmed Apostle in the Body of Christ. I teach and preach the Word of God to God’s people and shepherd a local congregation. I also provide ministry to many households and families through the daily broadcast of Restoring Lives. I train leaders in the Body of Christ.

What do you specialize in? Specialize??? Teaching the Kingdom of God, vision, vision casting, faith and leadership.

What are you known for? The God-given vision of Restoring Lives and the assignment of Building God a city, the City of Restoration. The statement: When your life is restored, you shall have DOUBLE!

What are you most proud of as a company? As a church, I am most proud or pleased in serving God as Kingdom-minded people. I am most proud of being entrusted with such an assignment and responsibility. I “GET” to do what I do in the Kingdom of God.

What sets you apart from others? The call of God. The vision and assignment from God. The way God sees me, and I see myself is what sets me apart from others. There is a grace to be me and I have it. Whenever I try to be someone else, there is always an awkwardness that comes with it.
