Meet Ariel Kerl of Kerl & Co in South Side

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Kerl.

Ariel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I created Kerl & Co to promote body positivity for slim women. Now living in an era where everything that’s bigger is better I wanted to create a brand that catered to petite women. It was a struggle for me getting on social media and clothing websites because I thought the definition of a beautiful woman was a “thick” woman, I mean that’s all I saw. No one was promoting a skinny girl. So I decided to create my own platform.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Honestly, this has been one of the toughest things I’ve done. Simply because I struggle everyday with my own body image.

Kerl & Co – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
What’s sets me apart from every other clothing like is that I’m strictly catering to petite women, giving them a clear image of how the product would look on their self. I’m most proud of being able to actually start my business and not hold back because of what the world thought a woman “should” look like. This was a breakthrough for myself, knowing that I was starting a company that promoted body positivity.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Personally, I define success by being able to wake up and love what you do. I want to be able to inspire woman with my story.
