Hi Aryanne, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After the loss of my maternal Grandmother, whom I was closest to, I fell into a severe cycle of depression. Emotions and thoughts of self harm that I would previously be able to mask, dismiss or vent about with her now overran my mind and unfortunately some of my chosen actions. Tapping into my past lessons from my Grandmother, I started working on changing my mind and my life through the power of my words, thoughts and using positive, powerful affirmations. After working with both medical professionals and using affirmations in my own personal development, I realized that these skills were ones that should be shared with others.
The art of using positive affirmations can truly be life changing, not just by building one’s confidence but to create an expansive and abundant view on the world. This art, like any other artform requires a technique, in my desire to share my knowledge with others I took my learned technique and created the course “How To Write My Own Affirmations?”. Initially done as an in-person course, I continued to work on methods to make the knowledge accessible to others outside of my area. The developed product was My Affirmation Kit a stand-alone Do-It-Yourself kit that guides you through the art of creating powerful positive affirmations.
The company continued to grow into products to bring the use of affirmations into our regular daily practices. From pens, notebooks, planners, candles, water bottles, and affirmation cards I have created products that allow you to participate in the use of affirmations in all walks of your life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship, unlike what is popularized on social media, is quite the roller coaster, both emotionally and physically. From sourcing the correct materials to create my items, negotiating reasonable prices with unknown vendors, building an awareness of my brand and proudly sharing my creation with others, thus opening myself up for critique, both justified and unjustified.
The largest struggle has and often continues to be, the struggle within myself to stand proudly in my strength and power. Knowing that with each new product I create I am helping someone find their own strength, introducing someone new to the life of affirmations, or reminding someone for whom it has become a daily practice of a new way they could incorporate their affirmations into their lives.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up on the island of Trinidad and Tobago, I was a gregarious, bookworm, always meeting and interacting with new people and devouring any books I could lay my hands upon. I spent my days playing with my cousins, hanging out at the beach, the mall, or each other’s homes.
My favorite person was always my Grandmother, we had a standing weekly date, where just she and I would go off on many different adventures. From visiting new places, to trying new experiences, it was very important to her that I experience as much as possible in the world that was outside of my normal day to day activities. She had a love of plants and travel and taught me that the easiest way to accepting something new or someone new was found in understanding it or them.
I took this to heart and was afforded the opportunity to travel to new places every year, where I spent my time asking tons of questions and getting to know the individuals who I encountered. This coupled with my love of books, I got to absorb the culture, knowledge and experiences of others as I learned about them and ultimately more about myself.
